What is so great about this very comfortable hotel is it's location. It's just out of town so it's nice and dark so you have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Not to mention the fabulous hot pots. I sat in the hot pots looking at the lights and loved every minute!

Excellent location to hopefully view the Northern Lights. Clean comfortable hotel with all the usual facilities and hot chocolate on the bar in the late evenings. Difficulty in closing the bedroom door without using force which could upset the neighbouring rooms. Good choice for breakfast and evening dinners. Reception will call the room should the Northern Lights appear. Nicely decorated...

We stayed in the Hotel Hamar for a two night Iceland stopover. We chose the hotel for its location. First, it is a convenient base for touring the west Iceland region north of Reykjavik. Second, it is outside the built-up area of Borgarnes, so it offered the potential to see the Northern Lights without distraction from city lights. And the...

Nice hotel in Borgarnes. Although it is within close proximity to the town, it took us awhile to find the actual location. The lobby and restaurants are well-maintained and decorated. The food in the restaurant is delicious but slightly on the high-end. The room is simple and clean. There is a door which will lead to the patio which visitors...

Due to weather conditions we were not able to travel to the West Fjords although we tried but white out conditions forced us to turn back & we needed a place to stay for that evening. After searching, two of the hotels we liked were booked so we decided to stay at the Icelandic Hotel in Hamar. From the outside...

It is a small and clean hotel, located in the western Iceland, with a lot of things to do around by car (if you like to drive). Close the city of Borgarnes!!! Great breakfast, friendly staff and the best view ever.

Nice and modern hotel facilities. Was here for a three day business meeting. Rooms are clean and very nice with good views and access to outside. Some rooms also still use keys instead of cards. The restaurant was really good, had preset meals, so did not actually see menu. However the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The hot tubs...

Clean, but a bit "used" hotel with bad soundproof. Has a hot tube, but its not natural. We have spent there 2 days, but most visitors stayed there for a night only. In August there were no free rooms available

We stayed at Hamar for one night, and I wish we'd stayed more! Fantastic views, incredible food, and our corner room was amazing and luxurious. Being architects, my husband & I both loved the modern Scandinavian furniture.

We stayed one night and really liked the hotel. Our room was very nice and spacious and so was the bathroom. Great views from the little patio. Breakfast was delicious and so was dinner. Wifi worked like a charm. The staff is helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.
