I was on the knitting tour with Esja travel. We had a wonderful 5 days! Bertha looked after us amazingly. I have food intolerances which make life tricky but Bertha completely understood and made huge efforts to make me feel at home. The food was fantastic, my room and bathroom were very spacious and well equipped. Thoroughly recommend staying there.

Clean, comfortable rooms overlooking the ocean. Jay and Berta were welcoming and so gracious as hosts. I can not thank Bertha enough for all her efforts in catering to my gluten/dairy free diet. The meals were always delicious and perfectly presented. Easy walk to the Settlement Center Museum,a super coffee shop with relaxing atmosphere and the community pool with hot...

Lovely location overlooking the water for four day knitting workshop. Excellent meals prepared with local products and awareness of special gluten-free and dairy-free diet. Shared bathroom was beautifully appointed. Very comfortable surroundings and we felt very welcomed by Berta and Jay. Easy walking distance to explore Borgarnes' charm including community pool (with three hot tubs) and Settlement Center.

This was the last stop we took on a week-long driving tour of Iceland. It was the perfect place to end our vacation, because it was peaceful and low-key. I almost didn't book this, because we generally choose hotels over B&Bs, and because we had to use a shared bathroom. However, the view of the sea won me over. There...

We stayed here in early September 2016. The B&B has 4 rooms, one with a private bath which is the one we had. The other 3 bedrooms share 2 baths. Note that all the bedrooms and baths are large and the baths have the latest updated fixtures, showers etc. I am usually fussy about needing my own bath but I...

This was our first time staying at a B&B, and we didn't realize we had to share a bathroom until we checked in - "our mistake not taking notice of details". Luckily this place has wonderful hosts, very comfortably arranged and the bathroom sharing didn't create an issue.

Just returned to Reykjavik for our last few nights of a wonderful Iceland vacation. After driving up north to Akureyri for a couple of nights we wanted a spot to enjoy and with easy access to the Snaefullness Peninsula. Borgarnes Bed & Breakfast was it! Close enough to the peninsula and just lovely on its own. The view from the...

The only spent a night we we really enjoy our stay. The hostess was very nice and gave us a lot of recommendations. The breakfast was incredible. she is baking her own bread and it was delicous. The only issue is we end up paying 12% extra than what was our reservation. They advertive their price in euro but charge...

The hosts have personalised this wonderful place with authentic Icelandic decorations; the view over the little bay is particularly beautiful from the main lounge and some of the bedrooms, and the home-made breakfast is utterly delicious, freshly baked breads every morning not to speak of the utterly delicious home made Happy Marriage Cake. The hosts are very open, welcoming, and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Founded in February 2008, famous for the hostess's breakfast buffet, Borgarnes Bed & Breakfast is a favorite spot for people from all over the world who want to relax for shorter or longer periods in a quiet and relaxing ambiance and at the same time have the opportunity to enjoy a big part of Iceland. We are located in the heart of Borgarnes, in Englendingavik creek, the protected historical center of town, with an outstanding view over the mysterious Borgarfjordur fjord. Only a walking distance from the sea, the Icelandic Settlement Center, restaurants and the playground Bjossarolo this Borgarnes's renowned Guesthouse is in a house that was built for the rich people of Borgarnes approximately 70 years ago. Even though it is popular as an accommodation for families, couples and individuals, with its 8 bedrooms, big kitchen and dining rooms it is a good idea for little groups to rent the whole house for one or more nights to enjoy a time of their own. As such the house has accommodated recreation week-ends, birthday parties, confirmation celebrations, just to give some examples. From Borgarnes you have a variety of shorter and longer hikings and you can do day tours on Borgarfjordur region, Dalir region, Snaefellsnes peninsula, Vatnsnes peninsula in the north, the Golden circle of the South coast and even go for the highland where you can have a taste of Iceland's second largest glacier. The staff is more than willing to help you organize your own ideas of a relaxing or an adventurous day before you head off in the morning. ... more   less
