Lobby was dark and grim, website says breakfast but it was a pack of oatmeal or a danish. Rooms were clean but don’t expect a smile when you walk in at a welcoming entrance. I understand COVID restrictions but you can do better.
It was clean nice friendly. I stayed one night because my water tank was broke, and I needed a place for a hot shower and quiet place to sleep. It was reasonable, close to my home, and I really liked it there. Highly recommended
You know, I had some issues when I first checked in. My usual hotel in Capital Hill had folded during the pandemic and I’d been searching for a replacement. The daytime desk person, I believe his name was Dave, literally checked off and corrected every problem I had — in moments. It was pretty impressive. I’ll be returning every month now for business. There are also quite a few nice restaurants, etc in the immediate vicinity that manage to still feel relatively safe to dine at — which is a major bonus for me. Also If you have a Wyndham rewards account, parking is free. Quick jaunt to I-5 for access to the entire Sound. Great wine, beer & booze store within 2 blocks. Sanitizer stations at all elevators. The combination of factors demand I rate it a 5.
This hotel is one of the worst La Quinta's I've stayed in! First of all, I had to pay for crappy parking that no one could fit in. That's a city thing I guess.. second, the lobby was suuuuper dark when we arrived (it was night time) and it looked like the hotel was closed. Lastly, the rooms were crap. Everything in the room felt dirty, from the carpet to the bed to the shower and just the whole room. The hotel looks nice from the outside and the lobby but the rooms definitely need a major upgrade.
We stayed at a Comfort Inn in Kent, Washington the day before staying here in downtown Seattle and what a difference! The Kent hotel was careful and took care to keep things clean and managed to find a helpful way to still provide breakfast. La Quinta, by contrast, was like something from the zombie apocalypse--the lobby was dark and shut down, roped off, with barriers everywhere and shields in awkward places. They refused breakfast and room service, and when I called down the evening of our second day to ask why our room hadn't been cleaned they informed me that they weren't cleaning rooms. As if cleaning them every day is less dangerous than cleaning them when a guest checks out. They didn't offer to bring up fresh towels or toiletries, if we wanted them we had to come down to get them. Of course there was no discount, just full price for bad service. The room was musty and we had an alleyway view even though the hotel was nearly empty. The only other guests we saw were put next door to us and they kept their TV on all night long. They charge you $25/day for parking. The only good thing was that the kind and helpful front desk clerk allowed us to check in early.…
