Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a nice hotel. The roads were fine and it is very clean. Food is limited. The area of downtown Seattle is not safe to walk around in however. I would avoid this area with the families. It was also very difficult to use the Internet even though I may Marriott Goldmember.

The service could not have been better. Anything we asked for we got. The building itself is beautiful. It had a large lobby with a beverage bar. Location was near everything because the downtown is very walkable. Our room was spotless. Bedding was so luxurious I looked up info to see if I could buy. The room itself was very modern and comfortable. I would not stay anywhere else for a return visit.

The stay was great but the service after the stay is bad. I booked the stay through Expedia with complimentary self parking. I checked in at June 29, 2021. The front desk asked me how many times I would need to use the car because I needed to use pre-validated voucher to get out of the garage. When leaving the garage, I have to first put the original ticket first, and then put one of the voucher. Then front desk also confirmed that it's complimentary. I got 3 vouchers and used all of them during the stay. When checking out, I was in a hurry so I skipped the line by dropping the key in the express checkout box. I didn't know that would cause so much issues. After about a week, I noticed that I was charged $120, which I previous thought was a deposit and would canceled once I checked out. Then I started to contact the hotel for the bill. I tried to call the hotel and found out the phone line will keep directing me to recorded message that I need to use the website to contact them for the billing statement. I gave up and contact them in the Marriott website on Jul 6, 2021, which will only send message to the Marriott but not directly to the hotel. About one month later on Aug 5, 2021, I got the billing statement and it showed that I was charged parking for two nights with 60$ each night. I then tried to get the refund by replying to the email I got the statement but I didn't get a reply at all. I tried again calling them because email is so slow. Again, the phone line either direct me to the Marriott website or no one is picking up the phone. I then started a new email thread with the Marriott on Jun 15, 2022. And today Jul 19, 2022 I finally got a response from the hotel indirectly (forwarded by the guest experience specialist): they confirmed that self parking is complimentary but I used Valet, which is not included in the rate plan, so no refund... And asked me to contact hotel directly... There are 2 issues here: I didn't used Valet but was charged for Valet. I only stayed 1 night but was charged 2 nights for the Valet I didn't use. I will update this review when I get an update. In summary, please avoid the express checkout and handle all the billing issue onsite. Don't leave the hotel without seeing your bill.

Sheraton Grand Seattle is in a PRIME location. Walking distance to the Seattle Convention Center, malls, theaters, and Pike Place Market. The hotel also has a large lobby with lots of space to relax or meet people. The lobby also has a nice Starbucks too. Our room was a double double bed room, high floor. Great room! Clean, good condition, great views. At the time we went, they did not offer daily housekeeping. Also, we tried their breakfast buffet on the 32nd floor and it was not worth it. For $29 per person, they offered buffet style of just some sausage, fruit, bagel, cereal, and a make your own omelet station. Although the view and the food itself wasn't bad. The price of $29 for eggs, fruit, and sausage is just not worth it. Better going to Starbucks instead. I also suggest the self-parking instead of valet. Self-parking is right across the street for half the cost. In my previous times using valet, it can take awhile retrieving your vehicle as well.

Seattle is fairly compact and the location of this hotel allows you to easily explore the downtown area plus capitol hill, lake union and international district on foot or with very easy public transportation options. The hotel appeared to be recently refurbished and the rooms have been updated. Our room was on a higher floor and at the end of the hallway so it might have been slightly larger than most rooms. The view of the neighboring buildings and streets down below (including a rooftop kindergarten) was very interesting. If you have a car, the hotel 's own garage is expensive and fully occupied when we were there. Park across street at the WAC parking garage is your best option in terms of convenience, price and safety. The garage is clean, spacious and very well managed.

We stayed for 4 nights. Pros: - comfortable rooms - Starbucks in the lobby - the lounge has great pizza - good location for walking to various attractions Cons - our room didn’t get housekeeping service at all during our 4 night stay. This is a major con, especially given the high price we paid! - some staff in the Lounge ignored us when we went in 25 minutes before last call. We ended up leaving without being able to order food/drinks that night. - shower door doesn’t seal well so bathroom floor got quite wet.

Booked this hotel and then got nervous because I started seeing poor reviews. I can't say enough good about this hotel though. The location was great! Our room was amazing, corner room, great view and huge! We were able to walk to Pikes Market and most anywhere else we wanted to go. The streets in the neighborhood were kept clean, the people who worked at the hotel were great. These were probably the fastest elevators I have ever been in. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely return if we go back to Seattle. Only wish they had shuttle service to Pier 91 but our Lyft driver was able to get us there quick and easy from the hotel.

Great hotel! Pretty lobby. Rooms were nice, roomy. If you're wondering, a child or small adult can comfortably sleep on the love seat, just order extra blankets and pillows. Beds were super comfortable, bathroom was large enough, but desperately needs hooks to hang towels, there's none. Plenty of counter and shelf space to spread out. Staff was very friendly and helpful every time we interacted with them. When we got there a guest was being less desirable, so they upgraded us to a room with a view. There was bird poop on the window so it wasn't the greatest view...but that's not the staff's fault. Starbucks in the lobby is very convenient, but there's usually quite the line. It moves fast, the staff are efficient. Not the greatest room service options, so you need to plan to eat out. The gym was well appointed with a great view. A weight pin was missing from one of the main pieces of equipment, rendering it useless, which was unfortunate, hopefully they'll replace that. Walking distance (1 mi) to Space Needle, Chihuly, 4 blocks to Pikes Fish Market. A little more than a mile and you can get to most neighboring areas. Convenient stores nearby like Target, Walgreens, etc. It's not the greatest location - lots of homeless, the streets smell like urine, lots of stores closed, most everything closes around 6pm, including most restaurants, and many were so busy they wouldn't do take-out. There's a Cheesecake Factory on the alternate corner which worked well for my family - kids will eat there, it's open late, and does take-out. Plus you can eat at the fish market which is close - tons of various options, including those other than fish, like Greek food, sandwiches, smoothies, etc and lots of dessert options. Great shopping all around. No complaints, would stay there again.

Room is spacious, but walls are very thin. I can hear the conversations going on in the adjacent rooms. There are 2 buildings - pike and union. I stayed at the pike street tower which have higher floors compared to union. Some rooms have bathtub, some doesn’t. TV has good amount of channels. There are also plugs convenient on each side of the bed. Location is good, between pike and capitol hill. However there are plenty of surrounding streets with homeless congregation. I felt that only walking along Pine Street, and Pike Street (cheesecake factory side) made me feel safe. F&B at capitol hill is very convenient, although it will be quite a hike up. A big supermarket can also be found there. Cleanliness wise - fair, since I found strands of hair in my bedsheet when I checked in. There is very limited foam pillows so do not be too disappointed if they take long to find 1 for you. Staff are generally friendly. One thing they could provide are pens and papers in the room. The hotel lobby has shortage of staff, waited very long for concierge to appear for luggage collection, but if you are a Marriott member, then check-in is smooth and quick. They also uses Marriott keycard and you can unlock doors using your phone. The lobby restaurant “Fountain” serves nice hot breakfast, and from evening onwards it will be transformed into a lively bar.
