Jan rushing down to the fast ferry terminal with a forgotten item was the icing on the cake for an excellent 3 night stay. From an efficient check-in by a helpful young man (sorry didn't catch his name), to the spotlessly clean and well-maintained room everything was perfect! The breakfasts were more than adequate with plenty of variety and lovely... More

It is easy for us to be helpful, because our guests are so great. Because we don't offer on line booking, we are able to establish a relationship with our guests long before they ever arrive. Then when they do, it's like meeting a long lost relative. Thank you so much for your praises. I'll be sure to pass them... More

A very good place to stay...we stayed 1 night and enjoyed the experience. The stay was above and beyond. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. The owners sure take pride in their establishment and it shows with the whole building. The breakfast was very good too. A top notch place to stay if you are ever in need... More

So glad we stayed here in Skagway. The hospitable owners were ever so helpful. The rooms are clean and oh so very charming. Much appreciate the effort that goes into the breakfast, freshly brewed coffee and homemade treats. What an absolute pleasure!! Thank you :)

Melissa, we do enjoy our time in the kitchen. I am delighted that you enjoyed some of the treats. Whether it's homemade muffins for the breakfast buffet, cookies for the cookie jar or rhubarb jam ... seems like there is always something that makes the house smell good. That might explain my excessive snacking. All the best to you, John... More

This summer was our 9th trip to Skagway...fun, comfortable town, but when the cruise ships come in, it gets a bit hectic and, just, well....too much! We always know, that our peaceful, quiet, "Mecca" is only a couple of blocks away. Fresh, clean, warm and comfortable (even fresh homemade cookies), and QUIET! (shhh) the White House beckons us home. Thank you so much for your kind words. Perfect is a higher bar than we can really attain, but we do strive to meet folks where they are at - whether it's leaving them alone for some much needed quiet time or comparing notes about grand kids with visitors that like to share. Work sometimes pulls us away from the... More

We stayed for 1 night to connect with the ferry to Haines. On 8th street you are well away from all the hustle and bustle of the heavily commercialized jewellery and souvenir shops etc.etc and yet, despite having a car, you could easily get about by foot. Car parking is on 8th Street. The hotel itself is run by very... More

I am delighted we met your expectations on several fronts (clean/friendly). I am not sure about the "generator" you heard. We do not have one operating on the property and the furnace room is below the kitchen. I wonder if the room adjacent to you perhaps left their bathroom fan on all night. Unfortunately, some folks do that for white... More

We had the "small" room upstairs but very comfortable & quiet. Charming, restored historic home. Felt lucky to have a room there the entirety of Fourth of July weekend for niece's wedding & festivities. Great breakfast & nice people.

It is always fun to have folks visiting Skagway residents stay with us. Everyone is so excited to see what all the hype is about and share the endless list of benefits we enjoy living in this little valley. Far beyond the commercialization that comes with a tourist destination, the scenery, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor opportunities are endless. Not... More

Very happy we stayed here. Bed was very comfortable room was clean. Walking distance to the center of town and about a Mike walk to the cemetery. The smart shuttle bus picked us up from the AMH terminal and dropped us off right in front of the B&B $2.00 per person. The B&B let us store our luggage after checking... More

Sue, thank you for the nice write up. We too are very appreciative of the SMART shuttle and how accommodating they are. For those without a vehicle, Skagway is a very walkable town to visit. But if you have a lot of luggage or have a hard time getting around, the SMART bus is a very viable answer. Without taxi... More

We arrived early, coming in on the White Pass and Yukon Railway, and since our room was ready they allowed us in early. Information about the town was available waiting for us on the bed. Jan was very helpful in directing us to the local bank. To top it all off breakfast was excellent. We highly recommend the White House.

Thank you for your nice review. We are always happy to have folks check in early if their rooms are ready. More time to visit Skagway that way. This is the second time staying at the Whitehouse B&B. This time we stayed one night before hiking the Chilkoot Trail. Due to an aggressive bear on the Canadian side of the trail, we were not permitted to hike past the Alaska/BC border at the peak of the pass. This changed our trip by shortening it by one day. We...
