The chef lead us through the buffet who was really superb. Various kinds of bread, ham, cheese, local cooking an fruits. The lunch was very tastefull : codd in Brettanic... More

We stayed at Hotel de France for three nights and we had a great time. We would not hesitate to return. The best thing about the hotel was the high level of service. There was a massive difference with the staff here compared to other hotels and that was they are BRETONS not French. Example 1: Can we have some... More

We decided at the last minute to have a four day holiday in Brittany and picked this hotel from the Logis web site. Its a typical old fashioned French hotel with a very good restaurant which was lucky as not many others were open in mid may.We had a well furnished comfortable room overlooking the back terrace, the only drawback... Room was tastefully decorated and spacious. Everything as far as the room looked like it had been transported intact from the 1970s, including the ballroom where the event I was working at was hosted.

We should have checked the website more carefully as we chose this hotel for the reputation of its restaurant. We planned half-board so we were disappointed to arrive for our three nights and find that the restaurant was closed for the first two nights. We were given a chit to an affiliated restaurant on the harbour called Quay 29 which... More

In the middle of the city, a charming place, with in walking distance in the narrow streets, to the market, the Nadine creps restaurant, and the old harbor. The Hotel de France, with a nice modern interior design, has a restaurant, breakfast and dinner are delicious, people are nice and welcoming. The old harbor has a street full of charming... More

Thanks a lot for those few lines ! It is true that the picnic we suggest is very generous and above all it offers homemade products and products from our area: Brittany (Saucisson Henaff for example). We are lucky to live in a beautiful area wich offers a lot of nices walks, Rosmeur' port at 5 minutes walk from the... More

This is a well run, clean, very inexpensive and acceptable but aging hotel. We had two nights here in July 2014 and explored the really fantastic town of Douarnenez. We had a room facing the 'courtyard' which was quiet. The restaurant in the hotel seemed busy but we did not dine there are we were out and about and the... More

Thank you very much for this comment. During the summer there are many restaurants opens in Douarnenez, and we have a second restaurant located on the Port du Rosmeur, le QUAI 29, at 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We hope that you will come back in Douarnenez and that you will have the opportunity to taste our cuisine ! More

We booked a night at the hotel De France on the recommendation of a local. The hotel is traditional French and the accommodation is fine. We were asked if we wanted to go half board and we agreed. We went down to the dining room at the agreed time and was shown to a table and then ignored. When a... More

We spent 6 nights in this delightful homely hotel in the centre of the fishing town of Douarnenez. It retains all the character of the original hotel which is a gem to find as it also has all the necessary facilities - comfortable clean bedroom, spacious shower and a great breakfast. The chefs' homemade breads and jams, in addition to... More
