Stayed one night in this interesting hotel. It is an old hotel that has been redone but still kept its art deco style. Our room was very nice and the bathroom was well done. They offer off-street parking which was a great help. We had a good view of some of this hills and volcanoes (dormant) of the area. Unfortunately it was a rainy drizzly day when we arrived so we didn't see much of the area.
We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. It is in a residential area on a hill with private off-street parking and our third floor room had a fabulous view across the city. Our room was comfortable and very quiet although the layout of the bathroom was a bit awkward. The building and interiors are quirky art decor and the hotel has retained its individuality and charm. The staff were lovely and helpful. There was a good buffet breakfast. The hotel is a bit of a distance from town - we walked it twice and it took around 30 minutes, however is only a 5 minute drive and there is ample parking in the centre.
An exceptionally beautiful Art Deco Hotel, with very comfortable bedrooms affording splendid views of Clermont-Ferrand. The elegance of the restaurant is more than matched by the superb quality of the food, served by the attentive and knowledgeable staff. After one visit you will want to go back again and again!
This was our final stop on the journey to Provence. We booked this hotel based on TA reviews and the hotel website....and we are certainly glad we did! The hotel is located in a residential area, high up and therefore with a good view of the surrounds. The building is wonderfully decorated, and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. But the main event was the evening meal. Absolutely delicious and wonderfully presented. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and patiently let us practice the little French we have. The sommelier suggested a white wine, which was also delicious. To cap it all, at the end of our meal when coffee was served, we were also presented with a whole petit fours trolley, and allowed to choose whatever we wanted....talk about kids in a sweet shop......!! Breakfast next morning was also delightful, although I'm not sure we did it justice...! If we pass this way again, you can be sure we will be stopping here.…
My partner and I stayed for three nights at the Radio recently and I am so glad we did! The hotel is in a western suburb of Clermont in a very quiet area and on quite a high level. It would be too far to walk from the centre of town. However, there is ample parking and from the moment you step foot inside you are made to feel most welcome. The interior is a superb and tasteful variety of Art Deco detail down to the wonderfully original lift built into the stairwell. It would be cosy for two without luggage! Our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with plenty of space. We had a beautiful view out over the local rooftops to the Puy du Dome. There was no traffic noise nearby at all. Because of the nature of my work we did not have the opportunity to dine but with a Michelin One Star and the fact that each evening it was very popular with many diners should speak for itself. On the one morning we could have breakfast the selection of fresh, home baked ingredients was plentiful and beautifully presented in the exquisitely decorated dining room. One final compliment. Every member of staff we met was unfailingly friendly and helpful. You honestly felt that you were sharing a home with them without any excessive stuffiness or formality. This was my first visit to the area but I sincerely hope to return one day soon and include the pleasure of dining there next time. Thank you Hotel Radio. You deserve your enviable reputation.…
