This was my second visit here with my family. We drove here for 5 and a half hours,it is well worth the drive. We arrived and got our room which was spacious and cosy with a view overlooking the lake. There was fun little details in the room like the mood rock and eye relaxing stones in the fridge. There was also white and red wine and sparkling wine waiting for extra charge. We got into our complimentary robes and flipflops and went to the spa. The spa fee included packages with Lumene spa products that could be changed for sparkling wine and alcohol free drinks for our teenagers. The spa is small but very relaxing with differents showers, saunas and a steam room, a cold pool and outside tub and lounge areas. The best is the pool with underwater classical music. There is a beautiful view overlooking the lake from the spa windows. After the spa we had a nice dinner in the restaurant, prices are mid range. After dinner we climbed to Ukko-Koli to see the sunset at ten pm. It was breathtaking with birds singing in the backround. The next morning we had a great breakfast. The breakfast buffet is good quality with multiple choises and locally produced products. This was a totally relaxing trip with calm and quiet surroundings. The next day was saturday and there was a lot more guests,so it was not so quiet.

You come for the views - especially the view from the terrace over the lakes is truly breathtaking. Unfortunately our room on the first floor didn’t have much of a view - maybe it’s better from the upper floors.
Room was pretty basic and had dirt on the floor and nails sticking out the door frame (from an amateurish fixed cable).
Breakfast is Finnish standard with the addition of a chocolate fountain, but staff stops replenishing food about 1 h before breakfast is over. The sitting in the restaurant is generally nice, but withered flowers on the tables are mother sign of bad management.
So with slightly better management and a bit attention to detail this could be a much better experience.
Car needs to be parked at the public parking down the hill, which is free, but can get very crowded. The public parking also as 10 EV chargers

This hotel is one that is comfortable to always return to. The hotel itself is functional, but the most important thing is nature outside. The only slightly negative point is the mini spa. The price is quite high in relation to the condition of the premises. Changing rooms and maintenance of changing rooms should also be done during opening hours.

Thank you for taking the time to review us! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the hotel as well as the beautiful nature of Koli. Our unique spa ticket includes pampering products to be enjoyed in the spa as well as the spa entrance itself. As not all of our guests wish to visit it, it can be purchased as an additional service, discounted for our hotel guests. We value your insight and strive to be ever better in the spa maintenance in the future. Hoping you will visit us again sometime!

First, Koli nature park is beautiful, and its nature trails start from the hotel. However, I would love this place more if it was Swissôtel Koli or something similar. There are Sokos elements that make it feel too familiar for any Finn.

The hotel is as good as it gets in Finland (at this price level). Nothing to complain about in our room. Everything was working well.

Breakfast was good, and the views from the restaurant were beautiful. In such an iconic national spot, I would appreciate having Finnish music (i.e. jazz or folk) played in the background instead of a lobby music playlist.

We were not happy about the bar/restaurant. The pizzas were quite terrible. We also tried the "better side" of the restaurant and ordered some meat to share, but the food quality was average. Some of the meat was cold when brought to the table. Also, including supermarket-quality french fries in a portion with quality meats didn't feel okay. The restaurant staff didn't know about the food and had to take the menu to check what it consisted of.

Our dog was nicely welcomed, as we had also booked a room suitable for dogs. The staff was friendly, especially at the reception.

More parking spaces and electric car charging stations are needed. But probably this situation was partly caused by the renovation of the parking area.

Thank you for both your stay and your comprehensive review! We are happy to hear you and your furry best friend enjoyed your time at Koli! We will look into the possible changes into the atmospheric music present in our premises. Hopefully you tried the sound and light pool in our spa, where it is possible to listen to Sibelius' compositions or will try it on your next possible visit! As for the restaurant, we are sorry for the quality issues you encountered and hope that the issues were corrected while visiting us. The number of electric car charging stations will more than double as the works to add 8 more stations is currently undergoing and they will be in use next week. We are also happy that the general parking area of the Koli national park have now been paved, which will help the correct parking. Please do delight us with a future visit to Koli!

Thank you for your review and my sincerest apologies for your experience. You are naturally free to post your experience as it is - in the meanwhile we as customer servants are there to make your experience exceptional. We wish the concerns would have been raised while in the restaurant and at the hotel reception. If not told otherwise, we will assume everything is all right and you are enjoying your stay. We only serve fresh food and should there be anything wrong with your dish we will naturally replace it. Most of our rooms have a view towards the lake Pielinen and those which do not have it stated in the room description, should you make your reservation from our own channels. Hopefully this will not have been the last stay with us in Koli. Should you wish to elaborate and go through your stay and experience please do not hesitate to contact us via email koli.reception@sok.fi. We will be happy to help.

Beautiful scenery right next to the main attraction trails of Koli National Park. The hotel itself was really busy, meaning that staff felt stretched thin - which is understandable and did not bother our party. Breakfast was delicious and rooms had all amenities we needed. The restaurant was also to everyone’s liking. Parking can be tricky, which should be considered if traveling with individuals with mobility issues, but who do not own a handicapped parking permit. The spa was also very nice with great amenities for those looking to relax after a long day of hiking (however there is no swimming pool and spa use comes at an extra fee, so keep that in mind). However, the spa fee came with a bottle of wine and/or a spa kit with lovely Lumene products - so worth every penny!

Overall the young, active members of our group found everything they needed from this hotel and it was perfect - the convenience of the nature center and trails being right next to the hotel was greatly received. For those traveling with older individuals it would be good to keep in mind the parking and that in the spa hot tub, there is no railing.

Hotel is less than 100 m away from a top of Koli, national landskape of Finland. You can go downhillskiing from the yard of the Break Hotel. Beautiful! And the spa is perfect for couples after 20.00, no children allowed, you get sparkling wine with you, hot tub outside, several wondeful saunas, different showers, hot and cold tubs. And in nearby Loma-Koli you can go to snowmobile- and huskysafari.

“The hotel is very clean. Out superior room 201 was really gorgeous, it was a huge hotel room. Windows almost the size of a wall that trough you can see Lake Pielinen like almost from the window of an aeroplane. Living in the room 201 made you feel like there was really no need to spend time in other areas of the hotel. The beds are almost a meter high and wide, the mattresses are comfortable. We had good dreams.

The food in the restaurant deserves an honorable mention. Staff very service minded and very friendly. Landscapes of the Koli Nature Park right in the backyard of the hotel. I don't know about winter tourism, but if you have car in use and you drive in Finland in summer, then a couple of nights in Koli Sokos is worth the price.
Aerotravelling estimates: 10+ as an expierence. Guess You don’t regret if you do it; a small holiday in Koli Break.

Stayed 2 nights with wife in a room facing lake Pielinen. I believe the room was a bit bigger than the standard room. The hotel's location is excellent, and the views are breath-taking. Theres hiking routes straight from the hotel as well as ski routes in the winter time. Buffet breakfast was good, normal finnish standard I would say. Visited the spa also, which was very nice and relaxing for adults, especially during this more quiet season.

Food at the grill it restaurant was maybe a bit pricey, but very tasty. The stake I had was really tender and also the burger was good. Did not try the pizza restaurant.

Customer service was good, and a special thanks to Noora at the reception. She organized a facial treatment for the wifey even though it wasn't the easiest thing to do and otherwise also was always very pleasant and helpful, a true professional.

Overall no complaints what so ever, a very nice mini holiday we had there!

Excellent hotel with beatiful views. Spa was really nice and quiet atleast in middle of the week, also the staff was very positive! Room was great with scenic nature view.

There was a prime minister fireplace near the hotel and it was well kept during winter time. I recommend higly visiting there, and you can buy some firewood from the reception.

Hotel restaurant was a bit over priced in my opinion.
