Room was pretty basic and had dirt on the floor and nails sticking out the door frame (from an amateurish fixed cable).
Breakfast is Finnish standard with the addition of a chocolate fountain, but staff stops replenishing food about 1 h before breakfast is over. The sitting in the restaurant is generally nice, but withered flowers on the tables are mother sign of bad management.
So with slightly better management and a bit attention to detail this could be a much better experience.
Car needs to be parked at the public parking down the hill, which is free, but can get very crowded. The public parking also as 10 EV chargers
The hotel is as good as it gets in Finland (at this price level). Nothing to complain about in our room. Everything was working well.
Breakfast was good, and the views from the restaurant were beautiful. In such an iconic national spot, I would appreciate having Finnish music (i.e. jazz or folk) played in the background instead of a lobby music playlist.
We were not happy about the bar/restaurant. The pizzas were quite terrible. We also tried the "better side" of the restaurant and ordered some meat to share, but the food quality was average. Some of the meat was cold when brought to the table. Also, including supermarket-quality french fries in a portion with quality meats didn't feel okay. The restaurant staff didn't know about the food and had to take the menu to check what it consisted of.
Our dog was nicely welcomed, as we had also booked a room suitable for dogs. The staff was friendly, especially at the reception.
More parking spaces and electric car charging stations are needed. But probably this situation was partly caused by the renovation of the parking area.

Overall the young, active members of our group found everything they needed from this hotel and it was perfect - the convenience of the nature center and trails being right next to the hotel was greatly received. For those traveling with older individuals it would be good to keep in mind the parking and that in the spa hot tub, there is no railing.

The food in the restaurant deserves an honorable mention. Staff very service minded and very friendly. Landscapes of the Koli Nature Park right in the backyard of the hotel. I don't know about winter tourism, but if you have car in use and you drive in Finland in summer, then a couple of nights in Koli Sokos is worth the price.
Aerotravelling estimates: 10+ as an expierence. Guess You don’t regret if you do it; a small holiday in Koli Break.
Food at the grill it restaurant was maybe a bit pricey, but very tasty. The stake I had was really tender and also the burger was good. Did not try the pizza restaurant.
Customer service was good, and a special thanks to Noora at the reception. She organized a facial treatment for the wifey even though it wasn't the easiest thing to do and otherwise also was always very pleasant and helpful, a true professional.
Overall no complaints what so ever, a very nice mini holiday we had there!

There was a prime minister fireplace near the hotel and it was well kept during winter time. I recommend higly visiting there, and you can buy some firewood from the reception.
Hotel restaurant was a bit over priced in my opinion.
"If you don’t want to be stuck with the hotel restaurant, you need a car to drive to Koli village where there are couple of restaurants."Read full review
