Peaceful place close to Liiva village (nearest shops and restaurants). Great bed and pillows in granary. Breakfast is 9€ extra, but it's really worth it. Room next to the shared bathroom and sauna was not clean, a cup with coffee and bottle of alcohol was left behind. Shared bathroom has 3 showers together next to sauna, no privacy unless you lock the door behind avoiding others to use showers and sauna.
I always passed that turn from main road in Saaremaa, but now I have been there and seen all that beuaty and peace. Rather simple like century ago, but with all beauty and peacefull athmosphere. Near is real Estonian Ostrich farm with different animals and lot of Ostriches. You can order Ostrich meal for dinner!
We arrived early in the afternoon and found no one there. There were two numbers posted on the door. Having trouble with my phone, we made our way to a restaurant with WiFi and called both numbers. Neither were answered. Getting concerned, we called customer service at the booking agency. They were able to reach the owner who asked us to call in 10 minutes. When we spoke, she wanted to know what time we would arrive so that she would be there. ???? We have to make an appointment to check in? When we got there, she was not there, but someone was there to show us to our room. We had booked a double room knowing it had a shared bathroom. When we walked in, we quickly realized it was NOT a double room but a double bed in a dorm style room. There were FOUR other beds in the room! Also, there was an adjoining room with a similar configuration! And from what we could tell, they all shared the same bathroom. Even worse, we asked how to lock the door. We could not. We asked for a different room and were told we would have to wait for the owner in about an hour. She then left us there by ourselves. We got in our car, drove away, and never looked back. …
The luncheon started with an excellent fresh salad accompanied by an equally fresh bread. The salad was enriched with various herbs, seeds and small pieces of ham - a real delicay! I particularly want to mention the dark bread which was so tasty I could hardly stop eating it. The main course was boar and mashed potatoe, but nobody would have guessed that this meat was boar! It was very tasty and had absolutely no after taste. The desert consisted of a base of streusel mixed with various fruits and ice cream decorated with strawberries - just delicious! Most important to mention - everything was served with a smile and most expeditiously. Eating here was a sheer pleasure and we tremendously enjoied it.
We (family of five with 3 young kids) stayed at Nautse Mihkli for couple of days on our recent trip through the Baltics. This was a perfect place and probably the most memorable part of our vacation. Kids enjoyed visiting the ostrich farm/mini zoo as well as meeting new friends from the other families staying on premises. Adults enjoyed picturesque landscapes, the cool beauty of Estonian summer, and amazing food. The ostrich dinner we had was on par with any high end farm to table restaurant we have been into in the States. Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious, comfortable and reasonably priced. Ingrem is a great host with excellent suggestion on what do in the area.
We tried to find a place on Saaremaa last minute during our trip start of April and found this farm stay over booking.com. Listen on booking it said the property has no wifi and so we called, as we needed to get more information also on the island. Turned out the place has very good WIFI even in the rooms. As the hosts were currently on vacation they had a caretaker moving us in, very very friendly and helpful guy, we got a nice room in the main building with a little balcony/porch and great views into the nature. The room was a family room with 4 single beds and a double bed, but we had it all to ourselves. The bathroom would be usually shared but there are 2 bathrooms for 2 such family rooms and since we were the only guests there was all very private. The bathrooms also had wood items, good water pressure, hot water, comfortable size of bathroom and shower. The rooms are nice and a lot of wood used (good natural smell), comfortable beds, heaters (that can be turned off though as well!). Its very well located a bit off the main street coming from the ferry, so on the one hand easy to reach and on the other hand it is not loud. In fact in the evening we sat outside and enjoyed the silence (just some birds in the distance). Since we came off season we just paid 50 EUR (but without breakfast) but we would be glad to come back in season.…
This guesthouse and it's surroundings are really picturesque and relaxing. We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed in a family room in the main building. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable enough. However, it was a warm summer day and the room got quite hot. In the evening, we attended a special dinner with about 50 to 70 guests. Food was excellent and service friendly, but the staff did not quite manage the arrangements and the timetable. For example, smaller children had their own (more limited) menu, but their dessert was served at the same time with the adults' dessert, which was about 11 p.m. Not many of the little kids managed to stay awake until then. Considering the difficulties, dinner price was a little high. But I am sure it is worth it on a regular night. The ostrich farm is within a walking distance and worth a visit. Try their ostrich burger, too!…
We arrived a little early at the Nautse Mihkli on a glorious afternoon. Not fazed at all our hosts immediately welcomed us with a chilled glass of wine. We sat in the sun and drank in the atmosphere until shown to our beautiful room. Everything was perfect and with very special touches (ostrich feathers spurting from key rings). The whole building was beautifully thought through, using natural timbers everywhere (no plastic loo roll holders here). The food was also natural, locally sourced and beautifully constructed. We had a special meal of ostrich meat (delicious), breakfasts with everything homemade - everything we ate was superb. Our hosts were gentle, delightful, easy to be with and generous. One evening (we were going to Padaste Manor for supper) they shared a small portion of their slightly smoked perch with us and it was the best fish we have ever had. Highly recommended. We will return.…
The simple beauty of the place brings joy to the visitor. The country elegance with modern touches give an welcoming air. The food is amazing and satisfying! Everything is clean and tidy - fresh like a flower.
