I cannot understand the ratings. It definitely used to be a luxury hotel, but it was decades ago. Now it just looks old and very "retro", I guess there was no investment over the past years... Impossible to sleep because of the extremely noisy climatisation (some very old model) even after stopping it (and it turned on again during the night!). Impossible to get a second key (only one by room, they don't have more, and the staff has to go with you through all the hotel to open the doors...). A very bad experience.
I have stayed in all better hotels in Zlin(Lesni and Koliba), this one is far the best. Very well placed, right in the center, walkable everything, free parking, very comfy bed. Breakfast used to be better but still very good. Room clean and VERY spacious.
First you have to remember where this hotel is. It might be five stars in Zlin, but it would be four stars in Prague, and three stars anywhere else in the world. Also, hotels in the Czech Republic self-rate, so the fact that the owners gave themselves five stars is not surprising. I will never stay at this hotel again. As you can see from the photo, the middle of the bathroom floor sloped dangerously down to another level. After getting out of the shower, I slipped on the wet tile and fell and hurt myself. Here are some other issues I had with the hotel. First, the bathroom is awful. There are no shelves or cabinets to place your toiletries on, there is no shower, just a place to sit where you can rinse off with a handheld nozzle, and there is no shower curtain or other barrier to keep the water from spraying all over the bathroom. There’s a light in the entrance to the room that comes on automatically with movement. That doesn’t seem bad, until the middle of the night when you get up to go to the bathroom and it comes on and blinds you. There is a television in the room, but it is so small and terribly placed that it is unwatchable. There is no deadbolt or chain lock on the door to the room, so anyone with a key can come in at any time. The room was sparsely decorated, with a small table, no desk for working, one narrow mirror by the door, and nothing “extra” that a five-star hotel might have. As far as positives, the breakfast buffet didn’t suck. It wasn’t great, but by the time breakfast rolled around my expectations were low.…
Not so high ranked as it should be. Rooms are big, but not so much services provided. A 5 stars hotel would not have charged me with a tooth brush nor a tooth paste (because of suitcase lost in the airport). Free Wellness for clients only available in the evening, otherwise had to book and pay to have access. Had a room for disabled persons (room 204) and wasn’t able to change for a normal room, even if the hotel wasn’t full booked at our arrival.
Perfect location. On the outside it looks not so good, but the rooms and the armosphere on the inside are good. The breakfast could be better, but the food at the restaurant is good and for reasonable price. The room is spacy, comfortable and luxorious. The staff are realy friendly and helpful. One of the cleanest hotels I have been. This is the place for you to stay in Zlin.
This is a nice hotel that is centrally located in Zlin but it is down a side street and whilst easy to find (good parking) the general area is a bit tired. The staff are all great and the rooms are spacious, clean and relatively modern. The attached restaurant is pleasant and does a nice beer!
Wedding apartment was really great!!! Huge bedroom, special XXXL bed with the heavens and incredibly spacious bathroom with bath for 2 persons and TV on the wall... romantic decoration at the arrival including flowers and sparkling wine... Professional and helpful staff at the reception and in the Café Atrium during breakfast. Even if initially planned - finally we didn't visited wellness area so no comments available. Very surprising was the Sunday's dinner in the hotel's restaurant = recently opened Prime Beef... at about 20:00 we were the only guests there... my Rib Eýe steak was OK (a bit problematic Hanger steak chosen by my wife)... French fries nothig special - like prefabricated from freezer... but what was great: the offered Cognac souse... perfect!!!
The hotel is pretty centrally located, few minutes from shops and the main square, however it is on a side street and without a navigation device not that easy to find. The rooms are very large and are profiting from the industrial look (pand past?) of the building. The staff at the reception is very friendly. The SPA area is overpromising, but more a gadget to receive a better classification. Negative during my stay that the sauna was closed and no service personnel around to ask any question.
Nice hotel situated in a rather hidden side street. Nice and tasty atmosphere, the 60-70s style interior is tasteful. Very good hotel restaurant, and good brekfast. Spaceous rooms and very friendly staff, though I wish I was informed about the spa facilities at check-in. The doors are not soundproof.
Big rooms, old style but very boutique style. Big beds, big bathroom, very nice staff with a smile. Really a good option for busines or with family for a weekend. I could not enjoy the SPA, but I am looking forward tyo use it next time.
