We ended up in this small town by chance and walked into Bila Ruze after we couldn't find accommodation elsewhere. I'm so glad we ended up here, especially after having seen rooms at a few of the town's other hotels. Although the hotel looks a bit tired from the outside, there is nothing wrong with it. The rooms are large and even though there is no a/c the windows open completely so you can get breeze in the room (important in early August!). The bed was comfy and the bathroom well sized and equipped. Our room looked out onto the square but was not noisy (I don't think Strakonice is a super late night kind of town!). Breakfast was good, eggs, continental breakfast choices. Staff was helpful and pleasant (especially the girl working the night shift; I've forgotten her name but she spoke good English and was very helpful. The morning girl too!). Although the carpets in the hall are a bit tired the decorations on the hall ceilings etc are just lovely. The hotel is centrally located to visit the castle, the bagpipe statue and/or to access the main roads in and out of town. A fine stay and I'd return if I'm ever back in Strakonice.…
Big high ceiling rooms as soon as you enter give the hotel a great ambiance Very helpful staff made the stay enjoyable Big entrance hall into the room with the bathroom and toilet off the hallway The room was well appointed ,clean and tidy. Though I think I had a family room as there were three beds in mine. Good wifi and my room had a balcony with views Access might be a problem for some as there are rooms set in between floors and are accessed by a flight of stairs The food in the restaurant was good with fantastic service Breakfast was ok but a little limited in choice. But other cooked choices available on request Limited parking outside the hotel Great stay for the short time I was there
Stayed here for 7 nights over Christmas. Staff are wonderful and so helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, quiet and have excellent English channels on satellite tv. Breakfast was great with variety of cold meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt and delicious multigrain rolls, or hot brekky available. Very convenient location. Affordable, value for money accommodation.
I arrived here with a group, although the bookings were made by a third party the receptionist was total overwhelmed and seemed to be working to a different list to what we had been provided. Once the room was issued I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness and comfort, not the impression gained by the stairs, lift or corridor. We ate out at the restaurant in the castle which was very good with a bi lingual menu and a friendly waitress. Breakfast at the hotel was ok apart from the awful coffee, Ham and eggs were cooked to order in addition to the buffet breakfast.
This is my second time in this hotel while on a business trip. Location of the hotel is great and since I am doing cross country - there is a beautiful trail along the river with no cars traffic ( bicycles only ) . Rooms are clean and comfortable, wireless works better then in 5 stars hotels , service are unbelievable - I asked if they can do laundry ( which is more the reasonably priced and very well done ) and even I forgot to put some of my running shirts in a bag Robert Soukup Hotel manager of Hotel Bila ruze volunteered to deliver additional bag by himself so I don't have to waste my time and can get a breakfast which is needless to say always fresh and served in a timely manner. I am highly recommend this hotel as best place to stay in Strakonice ! Regards Michael Orel…
