I feel just a little miffed reading all these amazing reviews of Joe. And here we thought OUR DAY was the most special(!) Joe is an incredible guy -- a little rough, a little saltly, a huge heart, and a ton of fun. He likes...More
We booked though Miller's Landing for an Aialik Glacier kayak trip and ended up with Joe as our captain. He had us smiling upon his arrival. We had the absolute best day with Joe as he shared his knowledge of the area, landmarks and wildlife....More
Cabin was fantastic! Very clean, neat and comfy. Coffee maker, hot showers, shampoo/soap, plenty of towels. Very important to me after a long drive. Joe Allen is a great host. Also, Joe has all the connections needed for fishing and/or hiking the Exit Glacier, which...More

Hi, Yes, I have a porti-potty on the boat. It is private. It is for women only since men are very sloppy! lol Men handle it in the sailor fashion. Over the side! I leave it up to the customer to tip the guide. If it is 2 people a 50.00-100.00 dollar tip is nice. I expect the guide to go all out for any customers... just as I do. I also offer Zodiac trips Zodiacs go just about anywhere a kayak goes with added safety and stability. The price for the Zod trips is also a lot less than kayaking at 250.00 pp. It allows you to explore in calm waters on your own. All needed safety equip. is included including a radio. Hope this helps... Best... Joe PS You can see what my customers think of me and my trips google Joe Allen Alaska
