Well...you could say it's historical and quaint or that it smells musty and old. I tried to like it...but they never cleaned my room for the 2nd night or gave clean towels or made the bed. Seemed only 1 person was working and doing it...More

The Van Gilder was definitely older...very small room, no tv ( which really wasn’t the worst thing) and there was no way to shut off the heat in the bathroom. It was quiet, sorta clean and right next to the water, shops and good dining....More

What a quaint hotel with a friendly staff! My girlfriends & I stayed in the suite. The views were beautiful from the 3rd floor. (Be ready to walk the stairs if you aren’t on the 1st floor as there is no elevator.) Danny helped us...More

Susan, Our biggest room at the Van Gilder in Seward is a rooms with 2 queen beds and one twin, it is called at suite. We one one available for tonight. Please call 800-478-0400 or 907-235-0400. Thank you.
