The two nights we stayed here was fantastic. Clean rooms, oasis kind of place from the hot Kona coast. Only minutes from anywhere you want to visit in Kona and sets up on the mountain among the natural vegetation. Surrounded by papaya, mango, citrus and macadamia trees, this is a great place to c o me back to after a...

It's a bed and breakfast. The bed part: although the rooms are simple in nature they have something that most places lack nowadays: character and personality. At least the one where we stayed: the Japanese Tea House or something like that. We never used the Jacuzzi or the TV because we figured: we're on the Big Island. Who has time...

There are two Ken Smiths. The one that owns this and the one that runs it. Bizarrely they are not related. Reviews are not great but I suspect that those refer the owner (whom we didn't meet) who ran it until recently when he retired at a fairly ripe age. Actually, it was very good. A bit old but clean....

We stayed here for three nights. The property is in a beautiful residential area that overlooks Kona (with partial ocean views). The house is tastefully decorated and the room (we stayed in MAILE ROOM) was perfect. The house is dated, but is well decorated and very very comfortable. The new hosts, Ken and his wife, Sonny (sp?) are gracious gracious...

I was slightly worried about this place, as some of the reviews complain about the place not being clean, both for the rooms and the kitchen. As we arrived to the lovely and lush grounds we were warmly greeted by (young) Ken and his wife, who explained that they'd been appointed by (old) Ken the owner to manage the B&B...

These little wood houses surrounded by a a huge garden is not what we can call conventional. Calm and peaceful, this is a very aithentic place. You can enjoy in the morning a good breakfast with many birds and funny geckos.

Let me start by saying I am soooo happy we stayed here for a week during Ironman World Championship. My husband needed a place that was quiet and comfortable and we got it here at Hale Maluhia. We stayed in the Banyan House, which is a rustic cabin with plenty of room for a couple or family. This is nature...

Where to start? First, the location is perfect. It's a short drive from the airport and up the mountain to a peaceful retreat. Second, Ken and Sunny welcome you to a cozy room waiting just for you. Third, the flora and fauna are delightful -- shade and fruit trees, tropical birds, and fresh air. Your day starts with coffee/tea, homemade...

We stayed for three nights in the smallest room, but the room itself was comfortable and enough for us. The property itself is very lush, and we got to enjoy a bird show every morning at breakfast. You really felt like you were away from it all, even though town was just a short drive away. Breakfast was yummy, and...
