For $25 per person, Hans (age 73) imparted a considerable amount of information regarding both his personal history and the history of coffee growing and processing on and off Hawaii. He was articulate, detailed, and open to questions at the end of each segment of his presentation. Be prepared to sit and listen for a few hours. Due to physical... More

In four words, "our stay was OK" at best, but nothing to write home about. I thought it was odd that there were so many "rules" for our stay. Even the reservation confirmation has a dozen or so rules with which you must comply. Everything just seemed so rigid, for example in the information sent to us, we are offered... More

This Accommodation was a unique type of B & B; a working Coffee Farm. My husband is a very outdoors sort of person so I knew that he would not enjoy hotels on our trip. So I carefully selected Bed and Breakfast type accommodation. We travelled extensively on this trip to Canada and the US. This particular B & B... More

The owner Hans and Martha were very welcoming full of tons of knowledge about their Farm and about the island in general. I read up about this place before my stay here and I read all the good reviews as well as the bad. I feel like the good reviews come from guests who came with an open mind and... More

We enjoyed our stay at Mango Sunset B & B. The access road was a challenge to find the first time. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Every evening the sunset view over the ocean was priceless. Highly recommend for an affordable stay.

We got off to a rocky start, because this place is not easy to find, and the twin driveways defy logical navigation. Once we got there, we were charmed. Our room was comfortable, and the sliding door opened to a stone patio with a stellar view down the mountain to the coast. We slept with the door open and the... More

We had a difficult time speaking with the B&B. Called to advise them of late arrival and they said they had no reservation for us. We booked through Expedia and called them & they said reservation was confirmed. Left 2 more voice mail messages at B&B with request for them to return our call but they never did. According to... The Guest called me on the day of the alleged reservation in the morning, but I was sold out -- sorry, I did not get your reservation from Expedia. This online reservation system is not always reliable, and I have spent countless hours on the phone with them, trying to iron out differences -- but all of those were well... More

There certainly is a great view as you are about 2000ft over looking the town to the east. Lovely sunsets, so well named. The B&B is run and owned by Hans and Marsha. Hans is a rude, arrogant old man with not the slightest sense of humour. I really do wonder why he is in the hospitality industry. Marsha on... More

My wife and I stayed there during the week of the Iron Man championship this past October. We had a very nice time there. The rooms aren't super luxurious, but very nice, and clean. The farm is located just into the coffee growing region above the airport and is about a ten minute drive into town. Hans is very interesting... More

We loved our stay at Mango Sunset - Marsha and Hans did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Hans was so interesting with his worldly experiences. We sat for hours and just listened. They all work so very hard and coming from a farm we could appreciate their generosity in giving up so much of their time to... More
