Overall we liked this place; however, there were a couple of incidents that were problematic. On our 2nd night, neither of our card keys wouldn't unlock the front door. It's a good thing we were returning to the condo before 11:00 pm when the front desk closes for the night. The cards had to be re-keyed. The second incident was on Day 3 . At check-in, we were told our condo would be cleaned on Day 3; however, no one showed up. A housekeeping attendant had come to deliver the extra blanket we requested and when we inquired about when our room would be cleaned, she had to check with the front office. Apparently the front desk forgot to notify housekeeping. We went out for an early dinner and when we got back, the trash was emptied, towels and amenities replaced. What we liked about the condo was the spaciousness, the kitchen set-up (coffee, dish detergent, sponge provided), and the washer/dryer. We were in Building 20 which is a long walk to the parking structure (and even longer walk to the front desk). We would recommend that housekeeping wash the kitchen floor which was dirty. At check-in, we were offered a discount card IF we attended a "session" which we knew to be a time-share presentation - we declined - and Holua was not pushy which we appreciated.

Years of poor housekeeping practices and lack of update have taken their toll on the kitchen and bath. Many broken tiles in the kitchen floor, scum on the sinks, tub and questionable toilet clean. Tile floors were sticky, and crumbs in the utensil drawers. No handles on kitchen cabinets, so many years of use have worn the wood bare. Bathroom floor mopping left sloppy lines of dirt against the molding. I couldn't wait to check out.

At this resort you can’t drive right up to your room which is kind of nice because there are not cars all over the place. Having said that you need to know the staff is superior at helping get things back-and-forth from the parking area with a golf cart anytime you need it. When you do walk back-and-forth from your car (it’s not far) you notice that the landscape is so well-kept and beautiful... flowers, plants, birds everywhere, they even have fish. Every room has a big porch or patio which is wonderful to enjoy the landscaping as well. We had breakfast out there just about every morning that we prepared in the full kitchen. They have seven pools so anytime we visited they were never crowded, and they clean them literally every day. We were really delighted with our visit. Their rooms (practically apartments) are also really big and they have washers and dryer‘s inside each unit. We wanted to bring the bed home with us. The mattress was so comfortable and the king size seemed like it was bigger than any king-size bed I’ve ever slept in, maybe it’s because I was on vacation in Hawaii. Literally the only downside we can think of is that we couldn’t see the ocean from the room. Thank you to all the staff and management at this location we appreciate every one of you! Aloha!!!

We stayed here for 8 days. The surroundings & landscape is beautiful. The one king bedroom was plenty for a couple. It has a fair size king bedroom with a closet, dresser, TV, safe, sliding door to the lanai, bedside drawers, a chair, double curtains, bed lamps & A/C unit. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The living room & dining room are together with vaulted ceilings, TV, couches, one of them converts to a sofa bed, dining table sits 4, sliding door to the lanai, A/C & a ceiling fan. It also has a closet for coats or clothes & washer & dryer. They also provide soap for laundry. The kitchen is small but adequate with big fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, adequate utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc. We had a very good time here. Loved it. Check it out!

Our unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. The dishwasher stopped working but was replaced immediately. The staff were all very nice and responded to our needs. The kitchen was in need of updating - trim missing, cupboards and drawers did not close properly. The terrible thing about the resort was our unit overlooked one of the pools which should have been a bonus, but not so. The resort allows local families in willy-nilly, with far too many occupants for the size of the units. Up to 15 people in one unit. On several occasions these families would arrive and take over the pool in front of our lanai. The first incident involved kids throwing tables and chairs into the pool and two of the boys climbing onto the roof of the small pool building and dive bombing into the pool. I complained to the front desk but they said they needed a video. The second time this happened I was able to get a video and they were ejected. On another occasion a family arrived and yet again took over the pool and were very loud, about fifteen of them and then the adults were smoking on their lanai. This is supposed to be a non smoking resort with designated smoking spots, which are unfortunately located right below some of the units. No-one seems to adhere to any of the rules and no-one seems to care. We go to Hawaii to enjoy warm evenings on the lanai but were instead forced to stay inside on many occasions. The security is sadly lacking and should be monitored at all times during the day and evening not just between 10pm and 6 am. We cannot understand how so many people could stay for two nights when it is supposedly a time share resort. Some people only stayed one night and yet it shows no availability in RCI..
