This hotel desperately needs to be gutted and renovated. You. And tell they've changed some things and brought in some new room furniture- done just enough to make the pictures look believable. Our first room had mould and a horrible chemical smell that burned my eyes and made me cough. The man at the front desk was very efficient and... More

I read the reviews, but we were desperate for a place to stay at the last minute for only one night. It was cheap so I thought how bad could it be. So, I started with an open mind. The front desk staff were friendly and the room itself was dated, but well furnished. Everything was going well until we... More

This hotel, while being located in the heart of Kona, badly needs a makeover. While we do not mind outdate or even very simple and sometimes rough places to stay, there still is a difference between simple and dirty. And sorry, this was dirty including a disgusting bath tub and used female hygienic liners an the floor. Spend your money... More

Great place to stay--even on a budget. Breakfast was low key but had just enough (fruits, cereal, oatmeal and breads). The rooms had balconies--great place to hang in the evening and to hang your wet clothes. Just be mindful that you may need to walk a ways to get to your room. The location is great for food and shopping.... More

We had a bad experience at Uncle Billiy's. Our room was dirty and smelled bad. Hotel needs urgent renovation. Breakfast was poor. Only upside is location. I wouldn't return to this hotel and would not reccommend it to anyone.

Small room, but clean. Right in the middle of the action. Close to restaurants, the farmers market, shopping "malls" and so much more. For being so close to to the action it's quiet at night. Room was outdated but clean and cozy. $5 for parking behind the hotel but the next lot behind it is free.

Due to many negative type reviews , we went expecting the worst and were pleasantly surprised. In fact we would stay there again. Location location location especially as we were there for Ironman. Yes it is oldish and run down somewhat, but the pool area was great to cooldown at. The sheets were quite old but the room itself was... More

My sister and I spent a few nights at this hotel and we will never do so again. The rooms are outdated, there was mold on the ceiling and bathroom walls, and the most disgusting part of our stay were the consistent bugs we had crawling throughout the room. (Ants, beetles, and not sure what else. All mainly in the... More

Great price and awesome place to view the Ironman race. Easy to get to and also centrally located to take in/watch the Ironman swim (only 3 block walk). and the bike and run are just in front of you. Nice pool to relax in and great people at the desk to help you out - always with a smile

If You're going to Kona for the Ironman this is one of the best solutions related to price/overall comfort, it is in front of the expo and less than 1 km to the starting/finish line. Rooms are not so spacious but enough for two people and luggages; the hotel would need a deep external and internal make over, I couldn't... More
