Loved the hotel. We were in the older part and the room was a little tired but the hotel is in such a great position that it didn't really matter. the rooms were clean, the staff helpful and the bar perched on the rocks reaching out into the Pacific was memorable. We sat at watched the sun go down every...

Aloha TA family, really nice to see these guests from AU had a great stay. They definitely took advantage of the great view and location. Yes, we're not the newest kid on the block, but we trive to provide clean, well maintained rooms and facility for our guests to enjoy. We are the best value for location hands down. Much...

My first visit to The Big Island, and my first impression of Kona. Found an amazing deal on an ocean view room here on a travel site and I booked it. This was where I spent my birthday this year, and the natural beauty of the Royal Kona Hotel was the best gift ever. The building looked older from the...

Aloha TA family, truly pleasing to know these first time visitors had such a terrific stay. I know the reviews have been up and down lately, but these are the kind we all like to see. Our resort is not the newest penny in the jar, but we do strive to provide clean, well maintained rooms and grounds for all...

We booked a relatively expensive corner king ocean view room for three nights, expecting it to be an amazing room in a great hotel. Instead we got a very, very tired and average room in a very average hotel. It may have been nice 20 years ago, but now it's run-down and in desperate need of some TLC. While it's...

Aloha TA family, I'm never one to make excuses, and I'm concerned that our visitors from Australia had a less than stellar time with us. We've diagnosed the hot water problem, and are in the midst of repair as we speak. Although we don't claim to be the newest kid on the block, we do strive to provide a clean...

We stayed here for two weeks, and found it to be clean and quiet. We enjoyed the sound of waves on the rocks below at night, and the convenient access to restaurants and shops, as well as a few local beaches. Our room overlooked the bay, where we could watch dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and colorful tropical fish from our...

We spent one night at the resort. The room was large, functional, well equipped and clean through the towels were thin. We particularly enjoyed having drinks and snacks in the evening at the pool side bar overlooking the ocean. Parking is convenient. The hotel is walking distances to shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a family friendly hotel with...

Aloha TA Reviewers, It's great to see our guests from China enjoyed their one night with us. The close proximity to Alii Drives restaurants, shops, galleries, historical sites etc. is ideal for the day traveler. We are family friendly, and our pool is nestled ocean side so you can see, hear, feel and taste the ocean. I'm pleased they found...

Hotel situated on the beach in Kona in walking distance from shopping areas and many restaurants. The hotel is a perfect location to watch the sunset and the hotel grounds are well maintained. The view of the ocean and the location are really romantic. The room is a little outdated and in need of an upgrade. We had to pay...

Aloha TA Family, great to know these guests found our location perfect and the sunsets from the property romantic! We truly are situated on the best location in Kona, with unobstructed views of the pacific. Come see for yourselves, watch the spinner dolphins play in the bay, or the turtles in our private lagoon. Glad they had such a nice...

I am a Ka'amaina who lives in SF but grew up in Hawaii. We come to Hawaii quite frequently to visit family and stay upcountry at the family home. However, we always stay in Kona and at the Royal Kona Resort each time we are here. The location, MaiTai's, Puu puu's at sunset and ocean location are wonderful, soothing and...

Stayed one night instead of driving back to Hilo - excellent location - can walk to town; View of sunset was spectacular and the sunset was breathtaking; music from luau entertained us as we had wine and pupus on the lanai of our room. Breakfast buffet was good but not the best selection in town.

We stayed in a Garden room with a partial ocean view very close to the parking lot. Priceline.com saved us $70 on this room. This is a very old and odd looking hotel in need of renovation. We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We were given a room behind the lift. It was very noisy. The room smelt bad. The towels given were worn out and very thin. I would not recommend it.

Aloha TA family, sorry to hear these visitors from the UK had a less than enjoyable stay. We're checking on the room they stayed to investigate the lift noise.
