We booked a partial ocean view king and were upgraded to a full ocean view with a double. I think all the kings were taken because we tried to get one to no avail. The view is not something I would consider a full ocean view but it was better than most. Parking was expensive and the bathrooms were kind...

Aloha TA family, Sounds like they had a nice time, glad they were able to receive an upgrade to the ocean front. Sorry to hear they thought our bathroom was gross, I have sent them a personal message to determine the room number so we can rectify any deficiencies. As I always say, we're not the newest kid on the...

We arrived in the late evening and were immediately helped by a friendly staff member. He upgraded us to an ocean view room. The room facilities are average and slightly outdated, but perfect for our purposes. You are on Big Island for adventure, not to spend the whole day in the room. Our small patio looked out over the bay...

Aloha TA crew, another really satisfied customer, that's what it's all about, looks like we exceeded their expectations too. Coming all the way from MN, it must have been refreshing to be able to see and hear the ocean from their room. True, we're not the newest kid on the block but we do strive to provide clean, well maintained...

Had a great time here. Booked a side ocean view room but was upgraded for free to ocean front at check in, the view was magnificent particularly since cruise ships were anchored in the bay on 2 of our days. The room was very spacious if a bit old fashioned but this was fine for us. We did not eat...

Aloha TA family, Glad they loved the views from our rooms, we do have the best location with the best views in Kona! I'm glad they were able to enjoy the great dining options along Alii Drive, but we truly offer some amazing food and beverage here at the resort, and it's not outrageous. Especially at happy hour nightly from...

Room was very nice, spacious, clean. Balcony overlooked the cove and downtown. Staff was friendly. The bar, lounge, and pool area had a classy yet retro Hawaiian atmosphere. Waves crashing on the rocks below the resort added to ambiance. Just outside of the hustle and bustle but still only a stone's throw or short walk away. Very romantic feel. I...

Aloha TA family, it's nice to see our guests from AK had such a nice stay, and really enjoyed our amazing location and views from our rooms. Looks like we pretty much met and exceeded all of their expectations, which is our main goal. Offering our guests clean, well maintained rooms, the best location in Kona all at the best...

We stayed at the Royal Kona Resort for one night of our honeymoon (the first night on the Big Island). Our Go! Airlines flight from Honolulu was very delayed so we were only there for a short time before we started our drive to Volcanoes National Park. The location of the hotel is awesome! You really feel like you are...

Aloha TA Family, it's nice to see the pros definitely outweigh the cons. It's nice to know they enjoyed the great location and wonderful staff, and that the loved the views from their room. I've sent them a personal message to determine what room they stayed, so we can rectify the tub issue. We're always looking to improve, and looks...

I stayed here for two nights during a business trip. Yes, the property is older but so is my mother and I still go see her all the time. The location is wonderful. Right on the water with gorgeous views and fantastic sunsets. The staff was very friendly. My room was clean and the bed was fine. The only negative...

Aloha TA Family, I'm glad they enjoyed the fact that we offer a wonderful location, beautiful property, the great views, nice clean well maintained rooms, friendly staff etc. FYI, we're working to implement a "hot spot" in the lobby for our guests to use complimentary, but without going into boring detail, it's not as easy as I would hope, but...

We stayed two nights at Royal Kona. We loved the location, walked to breakfast down the street in the morning, great views of the mountains from our room. It is a little dated, but very comfortable. It had a nice kitchenette that was helpful. We enjoyed a drink at the bar right along the water our first night there. The...

Aloha TA family, it's really nice to see that another first time guest had a truly perfect stay. Right, we're not the newest kid on the block, nor do we charge the rates the chain brands do. Hotel offers some great views and Don the Beachcomber bar is a must for a mai tai at sunset. The rooms are dated for what they charge. It is in good proximity to the shopping and restaurants on Alii Drive. Offers onsite Expedia Tour Desk.

Aloha TA family, a lot of really cool things came out of the 70's! LOL Sounds like they had a nice time though, and enjoyed the amazing location we dominate over our competition. The rooms are a bit dated, which I actually prefer to the sterile, brand new rooms of larger hotels. The pool and Don's Tiki bar are the BEST! Perfect place for sunsets. If you're looking for a brand new modern room, don't stay here. Everything in Kona is within walking distance from this hotel. Check out the cool granite walkway...
