We've been to Obergurgl many times, but our hotel of choice was not available this time. In fact, Overgurgl was very busy (week between christmas and New Year's Eve). But Josl had rooms available, we like design hotels, we like a spa, and Josl has it all, so we were very happy to try out a new place. First impression:...

Third visit to Josl, really can't fault it. We worry that it will have changed or not be as good as before.......This was our best yet!! Room was excellent, quiet, clean, nothing lacking at all. We were looked after at meals by Jozeph, absolutely top waiter, no doubt at all!! Anything you asked wasn't a problem, remembered all our little...

I visited Obergurgl on my own in early February and stayed at the Josl. I had, in previous years, stayed at the Bellvue and Madeleine and wasn't sure what to expect. I needn't have worried as the hotel proved to be just as good. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel very welcome and the staff were...

This is a beautiful hotel on a great location with a fantastic spa and wellness center. Unfortunately all comes with so many rules and instructions - and strict enforcement - that at times we were taken aback a little by the adequate yet abrupt service

Brilliant hotel for a ski holiday. The hotel is modern with comfortable rooms,. It is immediately opposite the slopes and the main lifts - a big advantage at the beginning and end of the day. The staff are fantastic, incredibly friendly and unstuffy - just what you need on a ski holiday. Food is good both at breakfast and dinner...

I have just got back from a week in obergurgl. We popped into the Josl Bar one evening (open to the public), and had a drink. We asked if we could watch the rugby (super saturday) in the bar/lounge the next day and were told that this wasn't a problem. They lied!! When we arrived, it was clear that we...

This was our second visit to Obergurgl and the first to the Josl. We would definitely stay again and have no problem recommending. From the moment we arrived all the staff have been excellent - from Andrea and Dominic on reception (who happily charged my phone for me every day as I forgot my charger), to Laszlo in the restaurant...

What a perfect mountain retreat! We travelled in a group of 8, 3 skiers and 5 non skiers. This is a lovely hotel with a warm atmosphere and lovely staff. The reception/bar has an open fire which is always alight, the restaurant is cosy and the rooms are nicely furnished with great views of the village and mountains. The spa...

Fantastic welcome from Dominic offering a beer on arrival! Great rooms, great staff, superb food, great choice at breakfast too. Really could not fault this place, thoroughly enjoyed it. If you fancy something more contemporary, and a break from Alpine twee this is the place for you.

Stayed here over Christmas 2014 our second stay in this hotel. Great service and friendly staff. Location is very close to ski school meeting point and main two lifts in Obergurgl. Food was excellent, staff very helpful. Saunas on top 2 floors are a great way to end day after a day in the slopes.

“Finest rooms on the 3rd floor are worth the extra money. Try and get one facing away from the village centre as the barrel bar opposite can be noisy at night. Rooms can be rather warm, but propping the door to the balcony slightly addresses that! Joel Keller bar underneath worth going for a boogie. Reception should give you free drinks vouchers. Only downer in Austria is that smoking is still permitted inside.”
