This hotel is awesome. It's perfectly located on the shores of Lake Peten Itza near the famous ruins of Tikal and Yaxha. Excellent food and nice ecological environment. You can really get in touch with nature and enjoy the wonders of the Guatemalan rain forest. Would definitely recommend to anyone who visits Guatemala.

GringoPerdido...It´s a wonderful place and the food is very good. Hope you like it as much we did. There you get to be in real touch with nature. The old hotel is very well kept, and the new facilities are fantastic. During the night, go to one of the many docks and watch the stars. We counted satellites, falling stars,...

Stop out of the 21st Century and into the realm of the imagination in the Maya Rainforest. Gringo Perdido is without question the most wonderful and magical place to stay when visiting the largest block of rainforest north of the Amazon Basin and the vestiges of one of the worlds greatest civilization that mysteriously collapsed a more than a thousand...

This is now one of my favorite places on earth. It's on a beautiful lake with kayaks at our disposal and swimming and hammocks. Close to Tikal. An amazing manager, Anne, who will bend over backwards for you, and delicious but healthy 4-course dinners, 3-course breakfasts, bottled water 24 hours a day, and fresh corn tortillas at every meal. We...

If you go to the Gringo Perdido, you must know that you will be in the middle of the jungle in a rustic room with open windows, and therefore, you will be visited by insects and spiders. We did not know this when we got there, and I ran out of the shower a couple of times because my now-wife...

Hotel Perdido Gringo has been described as "rustic." That means no windows, locks on the doors of most of the rooms and often times no hot water. There are als0o lots of insects in the rooms. Hey, it's in the rain forest! But don't come here for the amenities. Come here for the view. I have stayed in five star...

We stayed at the more upscale part of the Gringo Perdido - Building called Piramide Paraiso. First of all - we think that this place is a little overpriced. At 65$ per person (130$ for a couple) you will get a spacious room, in the building that fells like yesterday they finished building it. We weren't able to lock the...

I love this little hotel. It is the perfect place if you are looking for the super low key experience. Service is wonderful, amazing view, the food is good, and because you will be "disconnected" you can certainly rest! The outdoor shower is a plus (there are bathrooms in the rooms, but it is an experience to bathe al fresco!)
