This is a nice place to stay without being extravagant. Their restaurant is delicious and has great views of Lago Peten Itza, we especially loved breakfast. We booked a fantastic Tikal guide, Samuel Moreno, through the hotel. The hotel has beautiful landscaping that teaches you about Maya culture.

Nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Food is ok but a bit overpriced for what you get. The rooms were very clean, the view is fantastic and it is really close to Tikal which is a must for early visit to the park!

I fully endorse all the good reviews about La Casa De Don David. And the "Toucan Express", a horizontal dumbwaiter across the garden, is a practical and fun touch. But what really made the difference, for me, was the manager Yohana. I was stuck in Havana for days, no thanks to a somewhat notorious airline, had to change my plans...

This place is great. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The property is amazing and the staff are very good. We loved the convenience of having a good place to eat right on the property. This is a great staging place before and after your Tikal Adventure! Got to meet the Owner David ...He is an amzing man withlots of...

All of the staff we met in the three days we stayed here were very friendly and helpful. Some speak some English, while others only speak Spanish, but they were patient when I tried to practice my mediocre Spanish. The hotel owner, Don David, is a native English speaker and is very knowledgeable about the area. The restaurant was really...

We stayed here as a stop over to visit Tikal and before an overnight to Guate City. It is the perfect base being much close to the national park than Flores. The hotel is lovely - the gardens are expansive and for our kids offered lots to explore. The deck has an amazing view of the lake and the added...

After debating whether to stay in Flores or in the jungle itself with the family we opted for this hotel for a little added comfort and what a great decision that proved to be. The staff were so supportive and patient with our basic Spanish and our vegetarian diet. They also helped us organise transports and a guided tour of...

Rooms are basic but comfortable. Wifi reaches outdoor patios, food is excellent and the pack lunches for your ruin excursions are great. The grounds are just beautiful with beautiful plants, a,friendly dog and a great patio right on the water to watch the beautiful Guatemalan sunset. Great library to research your upcoming ruin excursions and all staff members were especially...

Thanks for the great review. And also for reminding us about the electric outlets. I had the same problem on a recent trip to South America. We are correcting the problem now. Already several of our tables or shelves have several outlets. Hope you can return someday, David

This hotel provides a quiet oasis from which to embark on explorations of Maya ruins such as Tikal (short drive from La Casa De Don David) to a jumping off place for a helicoptered excursion to El Mirador, or a 4-wheel trek to Nakum. Rosita and her staff were wonderful and helpful in every respect. The grounds are peaceful and...

We thank you Donald for the high rating and certainly hope you return. Sorry I missed you. I try to visit a little with our guest but now at age 80 I have decided to travel a bit myself. Maybe on your next visit. Thanks David

I would love to give this a better review because the staff is so kind and helpful. But it goes beyond quirky and approaches the non-functional. No hot water in shower, electrical wiring that looks dangerous, crazy restrictions on where you can walk. Food mediocre. The location and view are great. It is presently for sale. Maybe a new owner...

We are sorry we didn't measure to your satisfaction. I I need more details to try and fix the problems. We try hard to keep our guest happy. Even when problems with plumbing or other types occur. We can usually give our guests a satisfactory room even in some cases so at another hotel. If you rented through booking that may...
