The Barnett hotel garners praise for its attentive service and prime location, nestled near attractions yet serenely quiet. The stylish amenities, including a rooftop pool and chic bars, are a hit among guests, although some feel the rooms lack certain comforts such as adequate lighting and in-room coffee. While the ambiance and unique decor receive acclaim from many, opinions are divided, with some describing the atmosphere as underwhelming. Cleanliness is generally celebrated; however, a few note specific areas need more attention. Reviewers have voiced concerns about the hotel's value, pointing out hidden costs and pricey extras.

Whenever I visit NOLA, I will be sure to stay at the ACE Hotel - this Jewel is awesome! The rooms were spacious and art deco and the hotel lobby had a chic vibe with a heightened buzz. During my four day stay, the staff was always very attentive and accommodating - kudos to the front desk for setting the tone with a friendly welcoming upon my arrival. The attention to detail by the staff must be a testament to the leadership of the general manager and hotel manager. Keep doing what you do because your staff is making a difference. I can't wait to return.

I left with mixed feelings about this property. Upon arrival we learned the only parking available was valet for $44 + tax per day; not a welcoming arrival. Once inside everything looked very nice, "vintage" looks throughout the lobby and dining room off to the left of the lobby, and the "bar" on the right.

When we arrived at our room, it was like going back in time about 50+ years. Room was poorly furnished; no desk, no dresser, a wardrobe that wouldn't hold a single person's clothing for a weekend. A couple of "hangers" on the wall held some of the wardrobe over flow. Bed was HORRIBLE, felt like they picked it up used at the local IKEA surplus center. Housekeeping either didn’t know how to make a bed or didn’t care; as every night when the covers were pulled back the sheets were wadded up and the bottom sheet was untucked just hanging off the bed (photo attached)

The room had an old fashion looking "ice box" that was stocked full of wine to water, must have been 50-60 bottles and cans filling the shelves. A dry bar had several bottles liquor and mixers on top of the refrigerator was box full of snacks, prophylactics, etc. When the bellman took us to our room, he told us about the snacks, but also said “be careful, they cost a fortune”.

We had drinks a couple of nights in the lobby bar, very nice vintage bar and well trained bar staff. Nice “craft” cocktail selection. Got crowded later in the evenings. One night we arrived back at the hotel and they had music BLARING to the point that we could hear it in our room on the second floor. Thank goodness we both had earplugs packed, cause we needed them that night.

The restaurant off the lobby was never full, at most we saw about 6-7 tables occupied during the dinner hours. Not sure if was because the food wasn’t that great or because of all the excellent choices in New Orleans.
Walking through the hotel things were well worn and in need of replacement and some new paint.

Bottom line is we’ll find other accommodations on our next visit to New Orleans

Hello Bill, Thank you for your detailed feedback. Feedback like this helps us to improve on giving our guest a pleasant Ace experience. We want your stay to be as hip and memorable as our decor, and unfortunately we fell short of that pleasant experience, for that I apologize. If at anytime during your stay you were unsatisfied with your room, please don't hesitate to notify front desk so that we may try to accommodate you. I have notified the proper outlet manager of your housekeeping concerns and we will do our best to change your prospective. Please consider choosing Ace for the future. Thank you for choosing Ace Nola.

I love booking boutique hotels, they offer a unique characteristics then some chain hotels. The hotel has some great amenities including two restaurants (one onsite and another about a half block down), pool, a lounge with bar, coffee bar, work area, and music venue. Once you head off the elevator to head to your rooms you realize the building itself is old and the hallways are super dark (which could either be scary for you or mysterious!). We were visiting for a girl weekend and booked a room with two beds, when we entered the room we were underwhelmed. No big deal since we weren’t planning on spending significant time hanging around the room. When we did get back to sleep or relax we could hear everything from outside and the rooms around us since the walls were paper thin, not to also mention the sound from the cable car directly outside our room. The location of the hotel is ideal you can walk or Uber to anywhere within 10 minutes. The hostess at Josephines was great loved her she took good care looking out for us during our time there! Bottom line this is a god hotel but with other notable brands like the Four Seasons opening their doors in the city I’m curious how this hotel will evolve!

We live only 20 min away and found the perfect staycation spot! We loved absolutely everything about the hotel and it’s amenities. I loved that you’re able to text front desk/house keeping any requests and literally what you’ve asked for whether more towels, ear plugs etc is handed to you at your hotel door within minutes. The room was super narrow but we got a patio room which opens up to a semi-private patio and definitely made up for the narrow room. We loved that we could hear and see the live music at Seaworthy in the evenings from our patio and we would sit on the patio and enjoy it. The hotel lobby bar is so comfortable especially with the COVID precautions they’ve taken and the staff was so personable and attentive - actually all staff at the hotel were so so nice. We loved the food at seaworthy and Josephine Estelle - so tasty and fresh. They had different speciality cocktails at every restaurant and bar which was fun to try different ones. And the fire pits at the rooftop bar were so fun at night. The only slight complaint we had is that the pool is supposed to be heated but it was still way too cold to take a dip
In it. We’ve already planned our next trip there and can’t wait.

I live in New Orleans and had my wedding at the Ace in December 2020 and stayed in the Ace Suite for the whole weekend. And WOW what a gorgeous spot! The hotel itself is glamorous and art deco, absolutely stunning and full of New Orleans character and unique artistic details. The Ace Suite is a massive two story loft room with a record player, sound system, balcony, full kitchen and dining table. There is a claw foot tub in addition to a shower in the huge bathroom. The suite was perfect for a pre-wedding bridal photo shoot. The entire staff went above and beyond for every detail of our stay and I couldn't ask for anything more. The rooftop pool is on the same floor as the Ace Suite and has a great little restaurant called Alto that was perfect for easy late-night meals, in addition to the other restaurants in the hotel, and all of the food was excellent. This all happened during COVID and I felt like the staff were extremely cautious.

The event space rental for the wedding was wonderful as well. I loved that Ace provides an event manager staff to help with logistics. Food, drinks, tables, customized menus with our names and the date, everything was taken care of without having to coordinate multiple vendors, and practically zero effort on my end. They were flexible, accommodated our every request, and were warm, friendly and easy to work with. The event manager I worked with, Bonnie, was on site the day of the wedding making sure everything ran smoothly and she was an absolute angel. The food was amazing, our guests were impressed, and everything went perfectly. I couldn't be happier with our choice of venue for the wedding. I highly recommend Ace for a wedding venue, especially to those looking to reduce the amount of planning work for themselves.

This was an unexpected trip and we needed a hotel that was in close proximity to family. So glad that Ace Hotel was it. Ace did an excellent job with its cleaning and COVID safety protocols and we appreciate the label on the door letting us know that it's been cleaned and not opened. We had the large room which was a very nice size especially when one is staying in or working from the room (it would be nice to have sockets nearer the work table).
The only negative would be the half door in the shower. I have always grumbled about such partitions in European hotels...and how water gets all over the place. It would be nice if the shower area is fully enclosed.

Fantastic stay ... staff were cheerful, helpful, intelligent. Our room was so fun, elegantly designed from a by-gone era and comfortable! Despite the partying noise from the Mardi Gras revelers, we had no extra noise in our room ....

Would absolutely choose the Ace New Orleans as our hotel the next time we visit.

One thing that described this hotel very well was “form over function”. The design and aesthetics were beautiful (minimal with a touch of a gentlemen’s club/organic feel kinda vibe). My group initially picked this hotel since it has 2 in-house restaurants and a coffee shop right on the first floor, along with raving reviews.

We weren’t disappointed with the dining amenities that came w/ our stay.

However, we did believe that this hotel fell short of what was ideal for hospitality business. There were 4 of us in one room with 2 queen beds, but the hotel only provided 2 sets of towels and one bathrobe. Shower stall did not have sliding door, and the bathroom didn’t have a vent. The Smeg fridge (despite being very cute) and the AC were incredibly loud in the middle of the night. Beds were not comfortable, and we could hear every movement at night bc of how loud the blankets rustled (I freaking kid you not). The little table placed in the room was unstable (why is it that Ace couldn’t even install a proper desk?) with very little space. There were also no USB plugs and no luggage stand. The walls were thin, and we could hear 3 Keys banging with loud music 2 floors below us.

The nice things were black out window doors (instead of curtains), daily clean linen, and the super nice staffs. Shout out to Melvin at the Josephine Estelle restaurant; you made our night, and you were probably the best waiter that we encountered during our trip to Nola.

NOLA was our stopover before heading to Disney World, so naturally we would compare Ace to our Disney’s value stay (Pop Century Resort). It was a stark contrast. Clearing Ace has much to learn when it comes to details that put guests as the priority.

We totally understand that our hotel is not for everyone...we are a bit quirky and not your cookie cutter hotel. I'm sorry that you didn't love us and that we were not a good fit for you. I stayed at the Ace New Orleans for the first time recently, as the city was still under stay at home orders. The staff, especially the front desk managers, were so wonderful. They ensured that I was comfortable during my entire stay. They made me laugh and were just so friendly. They made me coffee, gave me hand sanitizer, and made solid recommendations for takeout during pandemic. I was really unsure about staying there given the circumstances, but they made it perfect. I actually was only going to stay 2 nights and stayed two more just because they were so accommodating and delightful.

The room and pool were really nice too! And Josephine Estelle was still closed when I was there but I love that place.
