Let me get the things we didnt like out of the way first.....Stayed here for 3 nights. Had a double room. Was surprised to arrive and find we had no microwave or fridge. Asked if we could move to a room with at least a fridge, told that the only rooms with fridges are the rooms with King beds...huh?? Okay....

This La Quinta was clean and well maintained. Room was comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant surprise and the location was perfect - a short 10 minute walk into the heart of the French Quarter. Plenty of things to do and see and good restaurants close by. Valet parking at $30 a bit steep but...

Really enjoyed our stay here with 2 yorkies and 2 adults. LaQuinta is always so clean and the staff are friendly and inviting. Will stay here again next time Im in the city. It is very close to Canal Street and St. Charles and just 3 blocks from Harrahs and the river front. Many good places to eat nearby. The...

Upgrade breakfast, coffee was awful, juice was waterie and most time the hot meal was cold. Not a good experience for $134.00 a night plus taxes. Upgrade rooms (OMNI) across the street had better accommodations. The rooms were in need of some repair, the plumbing in my room, toilet ran nightly took time for the repairman to fix it.

Lovely place, grand lobby, good hotel breakfast, most staff quite friendly and helpful, and lovely rooms with great layouts. Also quite convenient to French Quarter by 3 blocks and safe because people always walking there. But won't stay there ever again. Why? Because the walls are paper thin. I was warned of this on other reviews before booking but couldn't...

The hotel was very conveniently located from all of the places we went during our stay which was a huge positive. the accommodations were satisfactory. there was enough room for two adult men to be comfortable. my only complaint would be the breakfast. there was no meat at all and there was only boiled eggs which threw me for a...

We stayed here in February and received terrible service and our brand new SUV was damaged (see previous review.) After writing the review I was contacted by their general manager Palenstine Riles who apologized for all that we went through and sent me two vouchers in the mail to give their hotel another try. I tried calling last week and...

This is a nice hotel for the money. The room size is decent. The location is close to the Quarter and one block from the St. Charles streetcar line. In a quiet neighborhood. I'd stay there again. The lobby has a lot of tourist information and the free breakfast is popular.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
