Hotel just OK, location was the main factor. Situated in the French quarters just around the corner to Bourbon Street and Pat Obrien pub. All the action at night is in that area. Not to scare anyone as it could happen anywhere, but in the morning I learned that there was a robbery at gunpoint in front of the hotel....

Just visited New Orleans and stayed at Hotel St Marie. If you want to be close to Burbon St but not stay amid the craziness of Burbon in the evening, this hotel is for you. Restraunt on site; had breakfast there which was really good and easier than wandering around looking for a place that serves breakfast. Clean, tidy rooms....

After many years, I returned back to visit New Orelans and chose the Hotel Saint Marie-great location--just off Bourbon Street but very quiet, nice clean rooms and good service. As someone elso pointed out a bit dark, but no problem at all. Great to be back there again. The group that I lead also enjoyed the hotel very much. The...

Staff was polite but....... Website photo's failed to show the carpet stains and marks on the wall. Within minutes of checking in, we reported to the front desk that our phone did not work and there was a leak under the sink (reminded them again later that night). NO repairs were done during our three night stay. The price we...

We've been coming here for years! Love the location, restaurants and bar within the hotel! Hotel staff pleasant and helpful especially John Marshall. We will definately be back next year. The only negative is the outdated rooms, clean, but dark and outdated.

Great Location .... Quiet area and yet only one short block away from Bourbon Street. The Staff was excellent..very helpful...It was very clean, however they should get rid of the sanitizing spray they use it left an unpleasant odor...They have parking on premise but you do have to pay extra...Nice Garden courtyard with a small pool...The only thing we would...

Like the below reviewer we were near the parking garage but we didn't have a problem with it, in fact, we kind of liked it! Our room was really big, which was great for us as we were traveling with a 6 month old. The only bad thing I can say is that one the first night the heating wasn't...

Check in was quick and I was told the room was off the parking area with a separate courtyard and had a king bed. Well it was off the parking area, you had to leave the main hotel, cross the alley to where the room was, which would have been okay except it was a ground level dark damp room...

The first night our room smelt overpoweringly mouldy - I couldn't sleep and had to wrap a scarf around my neck to breath. It was also fairly worn - stained carpets and chairs. We changed rooms the next day which wasn't a problem, but only to a few rooms down the corridor. Although this room seemed slightly less worn and...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
