We've been coming here for years! Love the location, restaurants and bar within the hotel! Hotel staff pleasant and helpful especially John Marshall. We will definately be back next year. The only negative is the outdated rooms, clean, but dark and outdated.

Great Location .... Quiet area and yet only one short block away from Bourbon Street. The Staff was excellent..very helpful...It was very clean, however they should get rid of the sanitizing spray they use it left an unpleasant odor...They have parking on premise but you do have to pay extra...Nice Garden courtyard with a small pool...The only thing we would...

Like the below reviewer we were near the parking garage but we didn't have a problem with it, in fact, we kind of liked it! Our room was really big, which was great for us as we were traveling with a 6 month old. The only bad thing I can say is that one the first night the heating wasn't...

Check in was quick and I was told the room was off the parking area with a separate courtyard and had a king bed. Well it was off the parking area, you had to leave the main hotel, cross the alley to where the room was, which would have been okay except it was a ground level dark damp room...

The first night our room smelt overpoweringly mouldy - I couldn't sleep and had to wrap a scarf around my neck to breath. It was also fairly worn - stained carpets and chairs. We changed rooms the next day which wasn't a problem, but only to a few rooms down the corridor. Although this room seemed slightly less worn and...

I can't say enough good things about the Hotel St. Marie, where my girlfriend and I spent six nights. The staff was courteous and helpful--especially the bellmen, Jeremy and Courtney. We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Vacherie, which is part of the hotel. It was a memorable meal and the best we had during our entire trip....

We spent 5 nights at the St. Marie during Christmas week. Since there were no courtyard balcony rooms available we opted for a street balcony room. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a room in the 600 block which was equipped with a kitchen area with fridge, microwave and sink. The room also had a huge balcony with...

Breakfast was nice, staff was polite and the reception was pretty. Location was good if you want to party on bourbon street with out the noise in the night. When it rained it leeked everywhere downstairs. The bedrooms were average Very mediocore hotel but new Orleans made up for it.

I booked 2 rooms at St.Marie after returning from a cruise - one for my parents, and one for my family of 4. We really wanted to stay at an "authentic" French Quarter hotel and were perfectly OK with and prepared for the hotel not being a "chain hotel". Pros: - Great location - Cafe, bar and restaurant on the...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
