We have stayed at hotel st Marie at least a dozen times. It was such a great place to stay so close to Bourbon and such accommodating staff. That is until this last 3 times we have been over the last 5 months. We NEVER get the rooms or types of rooms we request. When we ask to talk to...

We very much appreciate your loyalty and visits over the years - sorry about the difficulties you describe. We consistently confirm, and guarantee, specific room types - not sure why you are experiencing otherwise. We have located your upcoming reservation – a staff member will contact you tomorrow to remedy. We look forward to welcoming you back for Mardi Gras!

Given that we arrived at Hotel St. Marie right smack in the middle of Halloween weekend, I kinda didn't expect to reach the end of the parking/valet driveway and find it unattended. In fact the whole area was completely devoid of people. We'd been stuck in a traffic jam for what felt like 50 miles trying to get into New...

I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a decently priced hotel right in the French Quarter. It was just off Bourbon Street and near all of the action but was very quiet at night. My only complaints were that the pillows were too hard and flat and that when I asked the concierge for extra blankets because I...

I was looking for something that wasn't just like every other hotel in every other city, and this was the best option for us. If you're looking for modern or ornate, look elsewhere. The building is older; the elevator runs slowly, and the carpet, furniture, and drapes/curtains, etc., are not new. But it was clean, it felt safe with the...

I've adored the outside of this hotel for the past 3 years and was so excited to have the chance to stay there. The night staff was incredibly wonderful when we arrived at 2:30 am because our flight was delayed. The girl who checked us in was lovely, warm, utterly compassionate with our exhaustion, and offered up several suggestions of...

The good news is that there were a few people working on sprucing up the place. I suspect that unless the hotel gets a larger crew, it will be a long time before it shines. Paint was sad throughout. No complaints about the staff or my room. Common areas and meeting room pretty sketchy though.

We were given a room in the annex of the hotel, across the parking garage. I had a feeling we were in trouble when the guy taking us to our room pointed to a steep flight of steps and asked if we wanted help with our bags. It's obviously very old but still no excuse for the dirty carpets and...

This hotel is close to Bourbon Street and in the French Quarter. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It is a very charming hotel. My only disappointment was the front desk staff. They were not very helpful or friendly - I felt like I was disturbing them whenever I went to the front desk. The pool and courtyard are small...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
