Great hotel with a wonderful location. Great customer service!! Too bad it was too cold to check out the pool, but everything is with in walking distance of the hotel which makes getting around much easier.

The hotel itself is nice - rooms were ok, beds were comfortable. But in the 5 nights I was there I didn't sleep one night because of how load this hotel is. Stay at the W - great location - good price.

Jeff, We are very sorry that your stay at our hotel was not better. Please know that an exciting hotel-wide renovation is planned for later this year and will touch each room from top to bottom. We hope you that you will give us another try after the renovations.

Went to Mardi Gras 2015. Stayed form Feb 10 thru Feb 20. This is really the epitome of a great French Quarter elegant hotel. We had a room in the back to avoid the street noise and it worked out great. Ate at the hotel's restaurants and were not disappointed. there is also a heated, outdoor pool on the third...

We had such a great time at this hotel two years ago, that we couldn't wait to come back. This time we chose to stay on the 7th floor which entitled us to use the R Club. The seventh floor was quiet and away from the partygoers on Bourbon Street. It gave us the added perk of the R Club....

One of many wonderful stays at Sonesta. Doormen always a friendly hello, and always helpful. We arrived early morning and club level room was ready. Room clean and neat. Maid and evening turn-down service always prompt. Young ladies in R Club (sorry we don'y recall names) were excellent. Always smiling, ready to help, so friendly, and so lovely. Hotel is...

Aside from being lovely, comfortable and clean with excellent food, the best part of this hotel was the staff. Everyone was helpful and happy. I enjoyed interacting with them- real people, and sharing some laughs. The two people that were the most helpful and fun were Wade Moore and Darin Stearns. Thank you guys for being so kind to me.

Wonderful gem in the French Quarter. Despite being on Bourbon Street, it is quiet and elegant. Staff is helpful and the restaurants at the hotel are outstanding. Has a nice courtyard and pool area for warmer weather. Worth paying a little extra.

I recently spent a long weekend in NOLA shortly after Mardi Gras; there were 3 couples over 40 yrs old. I was slightly hesitant to book something in the quarter as our hard-core partying days are mostly over, however it turned out to be the best choice. The Royal Sonesta was a great hotel, and surprises you once you walk...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
