I stayed in this hotel with my husband and we had an awesome stay. We had a very nice balcony room with pool view. Desire's oyster bar was great. The staff are very accommodating and nice especially our man Malcom. He was very helpful and very informative about the area and he got lots of recommendation about tours and restaurants. The valet guys did an amazing job as well. This hotel overall is highly recommended.
Stayed a night a week before Christmas. Excellent Papa Noel rate including free parking with a king room and side street balcony. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were great. Everything was clean and covid precautions were followed. Outside the hotel, which is on Bourbon street, there was a total disregard for any precautions however.
My wife and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta this month for a recent trip to NOLA. Our first room had wet floors and missing pictures so they moved us. The hotel is right on Bourbon St., so if partying and crazy noise all night is your thing then you would love this hotel. It is in the middle of all the action. The craziness was fun the first night but it quickly got old. Our room faced the interior courtyard (pool basically) and all the balconies are shared so we had people playing crazy loud music at the pool all day and constantly walking by our French doors that lead to the shared balcony, which also got old quick. However, we choose to stay here and it is NOLA so we just dealt with he constant noise. The one thing this hotel is really lacking is customer service by the front desk. It’s not that they really did anything wrong they just don’t go above and beyond. Every time I called them to ask about something there was no motivation, they are not friendly at all and they acted like I was bothering them. On almost every call the interrupted was I was saying to get me off the phone as quick as possible. They need some serious customer service training. Next time we are in NOLA we’ll stay at the Marriott, it’s half the price, equally as nice and much more quiet.…
Great location right on Bourbon street. I had an excellent stay for 4 days. Front desk staff was great and very helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the heated pool and enjoyed relaxing on the deck. Lots of fantastic restaurants nearby. Short walk to canal street to catch the trolley over to the famous Garden district. They had a jazz band play one night in the courtyard, great entertainment.
Had a nice stay once again at the Royal Sonesta. Ruthie took great care of us at breakfast both times we ate at Desire in the hotel. She couldn't be more welcoming and started our day with good cheer. We will be back....
