Our stay at the Westin on Canal Streetwas superb. It was a very busy weekend with Mardi Gras and the pro basketball event going on at the same time. The price was great. The shower was to die for. We had breakfast buffet and it was wonderful. We will absolutely stay there the next time we go back.

We loves our stay at the Westin. We had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River from the 22nd floor and it was so peaceful. It was perfectly located within walking distance of all the areas you wanted to see, but removed just enough that you could still seek a bit of peace. The room was spacious and comfortable. We...

A good location for a business meeting in New Orleans, the view of the river from the lobby is without rival. Being on the edge of the French Quarter makes it easy to get to any of the Quarter's many restaurants and music venues. The Westin is looking a bit worn these days and could use a renovation. It wouldn't...

I stayed at the Westin for my Rock n Roll half marathon weekend. The hotel was conveniently located to the start line and the packet pickup expo, which was great, plus walking distance to a lot of the touristy must-see spots. When you enter the hotel, you actually need to take the elevator up to the 11th floor where the...

Wasn't sure what to expect as we have never stayed in a Westin Hotel. Needless to say, this hotel, staff and location was amazing! The hotel is located in the heart of everything we needed to see. From a brisk 10 min walk or quick 5 minute uber we could see everything we wanted to see. What's even cooler is...

The rooms are comfortable, tastefully decorated, and spacious enough. The location is fantastic and right across the street from the French Quarter. The staff are very pleasant and helpful as well. The only problem was that my Key Card needed to be changed daily, which was a bit of a pain in the "you know what". Other than that, my...

Considering this hotel was not my choice (I went with friends who made the reservation), I would say it was pretty nice. Even though the beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice, you can get a much more New Orleans type of hotel experience in the quarter for a lot less money. The walls are pretty thin, and we...

Location is on the edge of the French Quarter, quite convenient, but the train running through 4 times a day (twice at night) will wake you up...Mall is below... Property a bit tired, hallways not always kept clean, shower spigots are leaky/wobbly, slow wifi and as is the digital channel on tv Bed is heavenly as usual. Was there for...

I stayed here 1 night with my husband while we were waiting to get on a cruise ship. Perfect location to walk around and explore the French quarter while still being quiet enough for sleeping. The room was clean as well (I'm super picky about cleanliness)! We were able to self park right next to the hotel for $30 a...

Wow if the view of the Mississippi does not stop you in your tracks, the exceptional staff will. We were there during a very busy NADA convention and they were spot on. The small Bar on the 11th floor is a great place to relax after a busy day. We will be back

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
