Wow! Could not have found a better hotel in New Orleans! Stayed here for 4 nights for Mardi Gras, not realizing there was some big NBA thing going on! Upon entering the hotel I was greeted by Troy, who was super friendly and very knowledgable about the area and local attractions. I checked in quickly and was pleasantly surprised with...

This was my fourth visit to the hotel and once again they delivered beyond expectations. The staff is so friendly and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. Stayed during the NBA All Star game and while the rate was quite high it was a much better value than most other hotels I looked at. Plus it was to...

Booked this room and specifically requested the highest floor available. They put me in a room on the bottom floor with no windows. It was dirty, had water damage and smelled of mildew and an old dirt floor basement. The air in the room was always damp and cold so much so that my clothes felt damp when I put...

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE of the Pelham Hotel's no-refundable policy. In December, we booked this hotel for Memorial day weekend. As soon as I realized we couldn't make the trip, I immediately contacted the hotel (less than an hour from booking and still 5 months away from the arrival date) and asked for a refund. For reasons that couldn't be explained...

My daughter and I stayed at the Pelham for a four day weekend. She was attending a conference and I was tagging along. We paid approximately US$154/night when we booked in mid-November, as part of a hotel/airfare package. We liked the hotel. It was quaint and cozy. The rooms were small, but not tiny. We had a room with large...

They didn't tell me I was reserving a room without windows. There's no natural light and it's dim and depressing. The corridors smell musty but that wouldn't be a deal breaker if the room wasn't so much like a dungeon. Bed's comfortable though so if you're a vampire this is the place for you.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights before a cruise. We had never been to New Orleans before. The location was great. We could walk to Bourbon, Royal and Canal Streets. It is also very close to Harrah's Casino. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We stayed in a King room with outside window. It was a standard...

This a great location for those wanting to enjoy the French Quarter. Great price. Friendly staff. It has the old Louisiana charm. Comfy beds. Clean. They will assist you with setting up tours. The Ruby Slipper restaurant is a wonderful bonus.

The Hotel is nice and close to everything. We walked to Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. The rooms are small but big enough to move around. We were pleased with the price. We went with another couple and they were by the elevators so I would recommend suggesting not to be close to the elevator. You could hear people closing...

We planned a trip to the French Quarter Jan 14-18th and decided to try the Pelham. This was based on price but primarily because the Pelham is ideally located. In fact, it's just about perfect. It's walking distance to everything French Qtr and Mississippi River but far enough to afford a quiet retreat. And, of course it's connected to the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
