It’s been said that the French Quarter begins in the lobby of the Hotel Monteleone. In fact, this venerable establishment sits majestically at the foot of Royal Street giving guests the best point of departure for all things New Orleans. Visitors need only step outside this French Quarter hotel to discover shop after shop of fabulous European antiques, estate jewelry, Oriental rugs, and art and antiquities from around the world. Quaint restaurants and specialty shops outside of this luxurious New Orleans hotel line the cobblestone French Quarter streets that lead to Jackson Square, the Old French Market and the Riverwalk where tourists and native New Orleanians stroll the levee and watch the steamboats and barges along the Mississippi River. At this New Orleans hotel, you’ll find history around every corner.

First visit to New Orleans and wanted to find a place safe , where we could walk or hire a ride to attractions, and a good, clean hotel. Hotel Monteleone was a home run. Our room was clean, bed was very comfy and amenities as you would expect from a great hotel. We walked to the WW II museum, Jackson Square and French Quarter with no problems. We did rent a ride to the Mosquito Supper Club for dinner. The front door and lobby staff were very helpful and professional. The carousel bar was closed due to COVID, we did have apps and drinks in the restaurant, they had limited gluten free options so we went with a charcuterie plate that was nicely done. Overall a great stay, would recommend it.

We have stayed here twice. Everyone is welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant serves amazing food. We love the room and location. You will not be disappointed. There is also a beautiful rooftop pool and view. We will continue to stay here on our NOLA trips.

My husband and I live in New Orleans and decided to do a French Quarter staycation. We had a fabulous overnight stay in a beautiful suite. Very clean with GORGEOUS view of the river and the French Quarter. We had snacks and drinks at the Carousel Bar the night we got there and breakfast at Criollo the next morning. Both were delicious and our servers were quick and friendly. We will definitely do this again!

My family originally started with the Truman Capote Suite with a additional room for our son. We have always stayed at the Ritz or Monteleone, I recently stayed at the Ritz with my daughter so we went back to Monteleone this visit. We stayed 2 nights and added another two nights in the Earnest Hemingway Suite off the pool. Our first two nights were amazing as always, the doorman, the staff, the restaurant just amazing!! We enjoyed having our son visit from LSU and enjoy it as well. The problem came in at the room switch. After I unpacked and stayed putting our toiletries away I noticed the toilet was stopped up and called the front desk who sent maintenance up. It took him two trips and 45 minutes to snake out a bar of soap and the plastic wrap that the soap was wrapped in. We did not do that and thought how odd that was. I went to the wet bar area and put our king cake on the counter where I found a wine glass with dried wine in the bottom of the glass. Now I am concerned. I called the front desk and I quickly sprayed everything down with Lysol and wiped all surfaces as we were tired wanted to go to bed. The next day we left at 11 am for the day I stopped by the front desk and told the front desk again and the gentleman said he had heard about it and I told him I thought a employee had maybe been in the room as the maids would surely have noticed the toilet being stopped up even if they missed the glass (however, with COVID, I find it very concerning that the housekeepers would not be more vigilant) and that the employee went to wash up went they were finished and knew they could not leave the soap out or throw it in the trash can, so they thought they flushed it. Where the problem comes in is I asked for them to please have housekeeping totally clean the room. We would be gone all day so it would be clear- he asked if I took do not disturb sign off door and I said I did. He reassured me that this was not how they clean the rooms and he would be sure it was cleaned. We returned at 7 and were shocked to find the most expensive room in the building had not been cleaned!! I checked to make sure I had taken the Do not Disturb sign down and it was on the table by the door. I called downstairs and told the front desk and she said she would call a manager. I asked for the room to be clean and she said she must call a manager. 45 mins later she called and said they could deliver towels but they did not have staff to clean the room this late. Wow. I spend $1500 a night and have basically been in a dirty room since I checked into the Earnest Hemingway Suite. And to further compound the situation they offer me a $300 discount. I have always adored this beautiful, iconic hotel- sadly I would recommend everyone to get the regular rooms. The nicer suite was not worth it if you have to clean and make the beds after walking around all day when you return.

Lovely stay at the Monteleone . They didn’t offer all of their regular services because of Covid. The Major had strict guidelines in place so the Carousel Bar was shut down. The Hotel went above and beyond to Make our stay enjoyable.
