The positives: great location; a few blocks from Bourbon St. but removed enough to be quiet; super convenient to all of the great areas of the Quarter; very clean room, comfortable bed and nice shower. The negatives: worst was that our downstairs room had a very strong smell of dampness. That's maybe what you'd expect from a place this old,...

I had a good time at the hotel. I had a 2 queen room but I booked a 1 double so an upgrade I suppose. I stayed off of a interior court yard. and could sit outside to read or even on the computer. I think for most of the stay I was the only one staying in that courtyard....

The location and customer service was great. Also, the rooms were very clean and smelled great. I felt safe and to be two blocks from Bourbon St, it was really quiet. This was our 2nd trip to New Orleans and we won't be staying anywhere other than the Inn on St. Peter from here on out.

The good: Remodeled room, comfortable king bed, friendly staff, free wi-fi, two blocks off Bourbon Street. The bad: Room was very small on second story, access was via steep stairs to a sloping balcony, street noise was very loud in room.

I highly recommend this charming Inn near the heart of the French Quarter action but far enough away to be very quiet. The room was charming and totally updated. There was a paid parking lot nearby that was only $29.00 for 24 hours..very reasonable.

On our last trip to the Big Easy my girlfriends and I booked a room right on Bourbon Street. The hotel was glossy and polished, but also incredibly loud! On this return trip, we searched for something a little more authentic - more charm, a good story, maybe even a little haunted? - and a little further away from Bourbon...

Stayed here for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom suite with 4 adults & 2 children. The Inn is in a great location in the French Quarter - far enough away from Bourbon Street to be quiet but only a short walk to all the action. The building is very old but well appointed. Being on the second floor meant...

For starters New Orleans is a very old city so go into it expecting that most the hotels are old as well. The hotel was easy to get too there is a paid parking lot about a block away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The upper balcony is terrifying though. It felt like the thing was going to...

Dear View89a. Thank you for sharing your experience at The Inn on St. Peter. We can assure that all the balconies in the French Quarter are held to strict engineering codes. A lot of balconies including ours have a slant to allow rain water to drain away from the entrances to the building. In regards to the steps we can...

We had a great experience for our first trip to New Orleans. Everyone at the Inn of St. Peter went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay, especially Carol the receptionist, and Daryl her sidekick. Besides a nice bathroom and bedroom with a very comfy bed, we had a living room, dining area, a refrigerator,...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
