I stayed here for a profession conference. There were 450 attendees and almost all stayed in the hotel. The staff handled this like it was what they do everyday. The rooms were of abnormal size but had a floor to ceiling window overlooking the city. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean and everything functioned properly. There is...

Over the years, I have stayed at the Sheraton many times. It continues to be one of my favorite big hotels. Unlike many other large properties, the Sheraton New Orleans balances local charm (the Blue Dog painting in the lobby, the Pelican Bar) with the efficiency of a conference center hotel. I have tried other hotels in New Orleans, but...

We went on Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was pretty busy and the parking was full. There staff.was friendly and the rooms were cleen. Well located but not in a noisy area. Walking distance to the Superdome, bourbon street and the cruise terminal.

Make sure you combine your points before arrival if you have Marriott status. Our room is on the 47th floor over looking the river. Room is very large and bed is cozy. Concierge on the 42nd floor and worth having.

Staying here currently. Location is very good. Rooms good standard. Returned to hotel at 10.30 to have a beer and a coffee before bed. No coffee available. Not impressed from a hotel of this standard. Manager basically rude....said he couldn't fix the machine! It's been broken for a month! Come on Sherston. ....sort it out. Also WiFi is free in...

Management response:

Good morning Helen. I'm glad to here you liked the location of the Sheraton New Orleans. It really is one of the best locations in the city, close to all the sites and attractions. But I am sorry to hear you were not able to obtain a cup of coffee upon your return to the hotel that evening. We are...

This hotel is huge. I attended a weeklong conference here. There were several other events going on at the same time but the staff handled it beautifully. Daily lunches, multiple rooms with multiple meetings at the same time all handled seamlessly.

Spent 3 nights here for business I was on the 44th floor facing the river, amazing view from my king room, the room was clean and tidy and the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff where pleasurable to speak and work with, their attentive attitudes are a great asset to the business. My only gripe was they close their entrance on...

Great hotel located in a great spot, just a far enough distance from Bourbon Street. Stayed on level 41 offering a great view towards the casino. Rooms were well sized and clean, vending and ice machines on every level. Room service was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

This was a jumping off point for trips into the Quarter, Marigny and Garden District. Can't be beat! Only downside is that lots of conferences choose this hotel and others around it. Prices can be high.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed our location and we agree that we are a great home base for exploring the Big Easy. We are sorry if you found us pricey and that you were disappointed by the presence of conferences at the hotel but hope that that does not keep you from a return...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
