The room was clean and super comfortable. Everything worked well. The staff was friendly. The bar had a nice happy hour. The location was great - close enough to be easy to get to the action but far enough to be quiet while you're trying to sleep. The courtyard was enjoyable. The wifi worked great (but does require you to...

This hotel had the perfect New Orleans charm. The room was updated, comfortable, reasonably priced, and (most importantly) clean. It was also a convenient walking distance to everything in the French Quarter, which was great because we opted not to rent a car. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had no problems answering any questions we had. The front desk...

Very old hotel with a beautiful courtyard if you are lucky enough to get rooms in that building. Very conveniently located a few blocks from Jackson Square, but pricey for the staff attitude and age of the buildings and stains on the carpets, etc... Practically no security either if you are a woman traveling alone.

Everything about this hotel was lovely. The room was quaint, clean and comfortable. It was quiet, even thought it faced Decatur. Staff was wonderful, especially Jerome and Mike who gave great recommendations for dining. And .... the best Hurricanes in town, by their own admission.

Room was clean, comfortable and perfect for our needs since we were gone except to sleep in a very comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about NOLA which was helpful for first time visitors.

We chose the Provincial for three main reasons. First the location; two blocks from Bourbon St (albeit the dead/quiet NE end of the street) two blocks from the French Market and one block from the great galleries and shopping on Royal St. We are regular visitors to NOLA and have stayed on Bourbon but prefer something slightly away from the...

I keep returning to this hotel as it is located in the center of the French Quarter and within easy walking distance of the river, the Frenchmen St. live music scene and the Marigny. Being downriver from Jackson Square, it also tends to be a bit quieter than some other hotels. Although pricing on NOLA hotels has been steadily rising...

Our room, located over the restaurant, was very comfortable, well-appointed, quiet (for the most part) and clean. We really appreciated the excellent bed linens, comfortable mattress and extra pillows. The charming hotel features several courtyards and an in-house bar. The only cons were stairs that weren't well lit (a necessity after a trip through the Quarter) and a lack of...

Stayed in one of their rooms overlooking the pool. Was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating. Good location to walk from in every direction in the French Quarter. We had 2 King sized bed for our family

Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Provincial. The staff was phenomenal and offered more than service, they gave great advice on places to dine. The room was nice and was right off of the pool. The only issue I had was with the business center, I needed to print something out and it took a lot longer than I...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

“I tend to like rooms close to the pool but I have stayed in many different rooms and have found them all to be nice and comfortable. Rooms on the river (Decatur St) side may be a little noisier at night with traffic and people partying.”
