Great service & super friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay! They let us check in early which was great because we were traveling with a baby. The doorman was so helpful in helping us get settled. The bar area looked nice too and there is a restaurant next door, very convenient.

Loved our stay here! Style of the hotel is so charming and so New Orleans! Room was spacious and we had an awesome balcony! Pools looked great, will have to come back when it is not so cold. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only negative was a little road noise

Family TripNEED coffee pot and microwave in room. Everything else was great. Bed really comfortable. Really clean. Nice furnishings. Reminded me of nastalgic New Orleans. One guy, when we checked is was a crabby little fellow. One parking attendant when we arrived was kinda snooty. The majority of the rest of the staff were super. Massively crowded weekend to be... Beautifully maintained hotel in a quiet neghborhood. The new bar and restaurant are a big plus. We found the entire staff to be cordial and accommodating. The hotel is close to the heart of the French Quarter and within walking distance of great restaurants and shops. We have stayed at the Provincial 4 times in the past 20 years and... More

Lovely rooms, beautiful view of courtyard. Front desk was exceptionally accommodating, recommending tours, arranging cabs, restaurant suggestions, etc. Walking distance to Bourbon Street, Mississippi River and Jackson Square.

The hotel had clean rooms, comfortable beds, very soft towels, very convenient to the French Quarter: the tourist area, restaurants, shops, transportation and tour headquarters. If you choose a first floor room you will hear the guests above walking and talking at night. Also the running water in the fountain in the courtyard can be heard all night.

I just returned from a one night first-time visit to New Orleans. I chose the Hotel Provincial because of its location and its proximity to some recommended restaurants. The hotel did not disappoint. Parking is valet ($25) but onsite, so if you need to place items in your car, it is right there. I can't wait to go back for... More

Nice historic charming hotel. Great location in the French Quarter. Room was much smaller than expected. My only complaint was that it was expensive, but the Saints were in town. No breakfast, but there is a great restaurant right next door. Hotel staff was really professional and helpful. Very clean.

This is our third stay in NOLA. Each time at a different hotel. Hotel Provoncial is our favorite, and we will definitely stay here again. The location is close to great restaurants, such as Irene's and the ones near Jackson Square. It is also close to great music on Frenchman's Street. We didn't rent a car, just walked everywhere. Based on the reviews here, we chose to spend the weekend at Hotel Provincial. Only two blocks from Bourbon Street, about the same to Cafe du Monde and the French Market, and easy walking distance to Frenchmen Street, this place is the perfect base camp for all your needs. While our room was small, it was comfortable, and who goes... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

“Everything was freshly upgraded and very crisp. The king size bed was a real plus - comfortable and nicely decorated. It was great to have two chairs! The closet space was more than adequate for two people on a long stay.”
