The Hotel Provincial is a small boutique hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter. It has been owned and operated by the Dupepe family since its’ opening in July 1961. In 1959, Vernon and Eunice Dupepe bought the site of the French Market Ice House which had been destroyed in a fire. On that site, the original part of the hotel was built/restored and consisted of 44 rooms. Within a few years, under the stewardship of the 2nd generation, the family began acquiring several historic buildings surrounding the parking lot. Those buildings were restored and converted to hotels rooms. The 500 building was the last building to open in 1972, bringing the hotel’s total rooms and suites to 97. We now have 92 rooms and suites due to some rooms being converted to other uses such as function space and the Ice House Bar. All of our rooms are decorated with antiques or authentic reproductions. The Hotel Provincial is currently operated by the third generation of the Dupepe family.

A great French Quarter experience! So convenient. Everything was right outside our door! Staff were so helpful, and gave great recommendations for local restaurants. Thanks so much for your entire staff's attention to making our visit to your hotel special!

Great Location, you walk anywhere in the Quarter, and the staff was Awesome at all levels. Room quality was less than desirable, The bathroom lights were inoperable, and the window louvers were broken. Due to exterior work to the outside and a ladder, I was unable to enter the the entrance, and by bumper was damaged on the street curb. The staff did try and make it right by waiving the parking fee, which I appreciated.

Staff is very friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. Big plus was parking is on site and enclosed on the grounds. Easy walk to the water and market place and to Bourbon St. Definitely will be my first choice when I return to the French Quarter.

We loved the property. The staff on most part where not helpful. To busy on cell phones and I would say 1/2 of them the other half very helpful. It was close to everything we love it and with Uber you can get anywhere in town a little cost. I will definitely stay again.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great amenities. French Toast restaurant is excellent for breakfast. Rooms are well appointed. Great bathroom. Only a few blocks from the French Market. Easy walk to Jackson Square and other attractions in the French Quarter...
