There are some good things and some not so good things about our stay at this hotel. Our room was located above the street and it was very noisy, especially on the weekend nights. People party til very late so if you are a night owl you will be just fine. If not I would recommend asking for a room...

I recently stayed for one night at this wonderful hotel. It had the perfect location, in the French Quarter but far enough away from Bourbon Street. Our room had a balcony that overlooked Decatur Street. We were able to access it by climbing out of a large window. From our balcony, we could overlook the park and see all the...

The hotel is very interesting. Separate buildings, courtyards, a great bar, valet parking. The only down side was no elevators but the staff was great about carrying baggage to and from the room at check in and check out. There is no room service or coffee pot in the room, but staff will provide coffee pot if requested. Very good...

What a delightful boutique hotel in the perfect location in the French Quarter! I could walk to a variety of restaurants and attractions and the surrounding area of the hotel felt both safe and quiet (important to me as a female business traveler). The hotel itself has a real classic feel and the staff are wonderful and so friendly. My...

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. Location was very good - although as we got to know New Orleans a bit better, I think I would have preferred to stay closer to the CBD. There is so much amazingness to see in NOLA beyond the French Quarter. :) Noise level was fine, we were in the back of...

I've probably stayed at this hotel 10 times or more over the years for business and pleasure. As far as the location goes...you are only a short walk to bourbon street and an even shorter walk to the french market. Closer than that however, are bars and restaurants that have the local vibe and cheaper prices. The amenities are great...

We chose it based on location and value and we weren't disappointed. The staff were helpful enough but mainly they kept to themselves and let us do the same. We prefer that. The bed was fantastic. Our ground floor, courtyard room was quiet enough but each morning a passing train could be easily heard. The room's door and transom have...

For my second time visiting New Orleans, I knew I wanted to stay at a historic hotel in the Quarter. Previously we had chosen a chain hotel and didn't get the full historic experience. After much research I chose Hotel Provincial due to the great reviews and charming photos from previous guests. I'm going to be straight to the point...

The Hotel Provincial was all we'd hoped for and more!! The staff were so friendly and helpful, directing us to restaurants to enjoy dinner and breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable but being on the street side it was a bit noisy. A room away from the street area would be recommended if possible. The value of the room...

We drove into New Orleans for Christmas. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff immediately took over to make our stay worry free. While I was checking in, they unloaded our luggage, parked the car and showed my husband into our room. Our room was off the courtyard, which was beautifully decorated with poinsetta for the holidays and were...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

“Try not to get a room next to the pool. People were constantly walking up and down the sidewalk, kids running and squealing. It was not a very relaxing room. I would also find a sign to put on the door so housekeeping doesn't disturb you in the morning.”
