Wonderful location, misleading from the outside, but there are many stairs to climb to get to the front desk. We later found out there was a lift from the rib room bar. Limited closet space so pack light. There is a court yard but only for guest that are staying in the court yard rooms. Outdoor Roof top with pool was nice with a small gym. If the baclony wasnt so small, limited storage for all my clothes, and stair for older travelers I would return. Pricey, but you can walk to many attraction.
Visited one night recently, not many guests. Was glad to find a hotel in the city which had not undergone a cheap renovation in order to look flashy and modern on social media. The hotel maintains the building's historic character, though the courtyard which is relatively new did not look so nice. Services were evidently "stripped down" but this did not affect me in any particular way and the hotel cannot be blamed anyway. The rooms are not big however American hotel rooms are unnecessarily large on the whole, I wanted a place to sleep and rest, not have a charades party. Quiet despite being located only a block or two from "party central" where all the drunks are. This Omni reminded me of the Boston version which was also pleasant and retained a historical air, and contrasted with the downtown Los Angeles version which despite a nice looking exterior and good location, seems to have been converted from junky apartments with little change. I will likely choose Omni over the other major US brands when I have a chance in the future. I only hope that they do not perform a "redesign" in response to cyberspace ignorami complaining that the rooms do not seem brand new.…
Perfect location, authentic old-school European style hotel (love), extremely clean. When there was a snag (barking dog) early on, Mr. Rodriguez took care of us immediately, and was very friendly and professional. I went from super-annoyed to super-happy in 5 minutes flat. Everyone was masked (Covid-19), hand sanitizing stations everywhere. Be aware of pandemic-odd hours for restaurant and bar, only open on some days, and closing early 8pm. Breakfast omelet with prime rib debris is divine! Seriously. We truly appreciated the housekeeping staff-- which respected privacy sign hanging on door, never once banged equipment in halls, and magically cleaned room perfectly after we left for the day (even when quite late). Cons? There is not always a bellman at front door, and there are stairs in front entrance. To use cart or ramp at all, you must go through valet parking garage at side. Not glamorous, and at least one garage man was consistently (amusingly) surly. However, they were always quick to retrieve our car, so fine with us. Pros? Everything else! Even check-out was fast and easy. Hotel is beautiful. Our room had recently been updated, all was fresh and lovely. …
Strong value for price, it’s an old school hotel, very European, a tad dated but I like it that way. Of course great location, it has excellent beds, not large rooms and quite small bathrooms, but like I said, European, and tasteful. You can improve on room size by booking a more expensive room of course. This is definitely the default place to stay when doing the French Quarter. There may be better places in the Quarter but those are few, often unavailable, and you will pay more.
Beautiful historic hotel in an excellent central Quarter location. A short walk in all directions to fantastic food and shops. Close enough to Bourbon St. for a totally immersive experience, but far enough away escape the crowd and enjoy a quiet night’s sleep. Outstanding staff provided top notch service.
