We usually stay here and we NEVER regret it! It’s BEAUTIFUL and has such a rich interesting history! It’s very clean, staff is extremely helpful and hospitable, beds and bedding are super comfortable, courtyard is gorgeous, location is 1 block from Bourbon street and you just can’t go wrong staying here!
Some friends who go to New Orleans ever year recommended the Olivier House to us. We loved it ! Our friends said they stay there because it is not just a place to sleep, but an experience unto itself. We felt the same. It is like when you travel to Europe and stay in small hotels that feel just like the country you're in. The Olivier House is just like you hoped old New Orleans would be. Antiques everywhere and the rooms feel like you are in the 1800's, except with modern conveniences. So elegant in an old world kind of way. You might think a place like that might feel haughty or stuffy, but it is the exact opposite. The staff is super casual, laughing and talking with guest as if everybody knows each other. They were great about giving local advice on where to eat and what to do. Also if you need anything like toothbrush, razors, or whatever the staff will get it for you free of charge. I've never seen another hotel do that. That is one more reason this hotel feels so different than others. Another thing is their casual approach to valet parking. You don't need a ticket, just pull up, unload your bags and when your ready, they will park it for you and bring it back whenever you want it. Parking in the French Quarter is high, but their price is cheaper than most. We had a great experience, and will definitely be back. If you're looking for something different and unique try the Olivier House. You won't regret it.…
This place was exactly what I wanted when staying in New Orleans French Quarter! This was a historic building that is what I think of when I think of New Orleans. The location could not be better. It is a block from Bourbon so walking distance to EVERYTHING in the French Quarter and downtown and perfect because you are right in the middle of the action but not so where you hear every single thing going on down there all night!! The staff was amazing and super nice and helpful. They have a community room with coffee, tea, hot cocoa and some little sweets as well are available 24 hours a day which was nice to just go and relax down there in the morning before starting your day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, reasonable and great location while staying in the French Quarter.…
The Olivier House is a great New Orleans boutique hotel. It is actually 3 antebellum mansions now connected. Every room is seriously different from the rest, adding a bohemian feel to the ambience. Some rooms are multi level, some are significantly larger than others. A few have multiple bedrooms and full kitchens, others have fridges and microwaves, I think others may not have either. Bathrooms vary also. Some rooms have balconies. There is a pool and a beautiful courtyard, shaded by tees and subtropical plants. We have been staying here since 1983 and truly love this place. It is located 2/3 of a block from Bourbon street, so it is a very short walk to restaurants, music clubs, bars, t shirt shops, etc. But you are enough from Bourbon to not be bothered by all of the above.
This is an amazing find. You will not stay in a more unique property. John and Ashley greeted us and allowed us to review some rooms as each one is so eclectic and has a different feel. We chose a room overlooking the courtyard with a view of the French Quarter. This is by no means a chain hotel. If that’s what you want, look else where. This is about the experience and the flavor of historic New Orleans. From cats in the lobby to what can only be described as the world’s smallest elevator, you will be amazed at the sights and touches that make this property unique.
