While the rooms were in good standing and the lobby was clean, a couple of issues. Put in a room that you hear nothing but the elevator going up and down all night. The woman who checked us in double charged us...we had booked thru an online site and paid already. We received the invoice the next morning and called...

Location was great, and the products in the room were nice. Beyond that... Cockroaches (more than one) in my room, $38 a night for parking, no fan in the bathroom, no safe in the room, and the room overall was just less than impressive for the cost.

Stayed in this hotel for a business trip. Nice location, dated hotel and horrible housekeeping service. We were there for four days and three out of the four days our room wasn't cleaned when we finished our meetings at 5pm. The only day it was cleaned in a timely fashion was the day I called and asked them to clean...

This review is for the Marriott on Canal Street. This hotel is undergoing renovation. The rooms are typical Marriott quality. The beds are excellent. The bathrooms, while updated with new fixtures, are still teeny-weeny. The building itself is rather old. The elevators are interesting, in that they are programmed somewhat differently, and are very very efficient at moving people up...

Booked this hotel for a guys trip the weekend after mardi Gras. Just steps from Harrah's casino, and a short walk (few blocks) from Bourbon st, and a little further to Frenchman st. Hotel bar was great and the staff was tremendous.

The good things first. The hotel is very well located. Near the center of everything. Harrah’s Casino, St. Charles Street, the River Walk and Bourbon Street. The room was small, but the two full sized beds were very comfortable and soft and allowed for a good nights sleep. A small refrigerator was in the room-always a nice touch. The curtains...

Very friendly and helpful front desk and concierge staff. Decent hotel in a prime location for the French Quarter. Adequate room size, clean, and very comfortable bed. This location appears to be starting a renovation. Much needed. Although clean, our room was dated and showing signs of wear and tear. This is a very large location. Expect a lot of...

Stayed 3 nights here at the suggestion of local friends who were organizing reunion of sorts & had blocked some rooms for the out-of-towners. Sure, I'm a little creeped-out by the transparency with which our computer overlords have revealed themselves with the elevators, but the hotel is so conveniently located, and the staff so efficient and friendly - that I just over look the loss of agency and trust myself entirely to the AI gods that be. Good room, good stay, recommended.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
