Firstly, let me say what's going well: The location of the hotel is great. It's right on the French Quarter and within walking distance of some great restaurants. The bed is very comfortable for me. And -- I know this is odd -- but the elevator system is rather unique and makes it a pleasure to get to and from...

I booked this stay through Priceline, and got an amazing deal on it. The location was perfect! It was in walking distance to a ton of stuff to do. The room was good and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bell and concierge staff was awesome. This was a great stay and I would definitely recommend this place.

Let me start this by saying I did not bring any of these issues to the attention of the hotel. It was late, and I was tired and I didn't want to get out of my PJs to wait for Maintence. I have stayed at the hotel before and the staff is amazing. Friendly, happy, accomodating. It's in a great...

Just got back from staying for a conference in the hotel. My room was a little dated but clean. The service was excellent and staff friendly. I used the fitness center and it was clean and in good shape. I would stay here again. Room service prompt and food was good.

This is a big hotel and is always busy, busy, busy. It seems to host many meetings/conventions. If you want a quiet, calm, peaceful atmosphere for your business or family travel, you need to look further. That said, the hotel has a nice "buzz" of activity and plenty of staff to help (concierge, bellstand, transportation, front desk). There is a...

We came down to New Orleans for a post-Christmas Reveillon Dinner, and stayed here. It felt like we rented a room at the Motel 6, for even more money than the Sheraton across the street. The room was very small, the wallpaper and décor was very dated, and the bathroom was tiny and dated as well. The bed was hard...

The hotel was average and we would stay here again. It shows it's age and the room was small and felt a bit cramped for the two of us. The wireless internet worked well. The best part was the location. It was within walking distance of the French Quarter but far enough away from the loud, bar scenes.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
