Had a lovely experience at this hotel. Was hoping for a "spooky" encounter due tohearing it as haunted but otherwise pleasant stay. Staff were friendly. Hotel is in the process of renovating and the shower took a 1/2 hour to get warm-hot water with no water pressure. Otherwise a good time and look forward to visiting New Orleans again!

The staff members are all wonderfully nice but the hotel needs some work!! I was there for two nights and never had more than lukewarm water (I and everyone else who was in an even-numbered room). I told the front desk but the issue was not resolved. Rooms are big which is nice but the lighting is not great. Rooftop...

Pros: Our room was lovely and newly refurbished, location was great, hotel has lots of atmosphere, character and history, the PB&J 'social' each night is such a lovely touch. Cons: The staff member checking us in could hardly be understood as she mumbled badly, another woman at the front desk was not too helpful when our safe didn't work and...

Have stayed in this hotel previously and found it to be beautifully maintained. Unfortunately, that is not currently the case. My room was nice, although it was unsettling to enter it to find that the TV on at a loud volume tuned to a trashy reality show. The room was missing hand towels, a bath matt and a trash can....

The Hotel and staff were excellent.. the Dining room was not.. don't eat there.. small portions, poor service and very expensive. The Hotel was beautiful and well kept.. just walking around took you back 100 years to a time of elegance, and beauty. The management did special things to make our stay special...beautiful roof top view of city, for late...

We travelled to New Orleans to meet friends for the weekend. Upon our arrival around 2:30pm, we were told our room was not ready as check-in was at 3pm. We were told they would call us around 3 to let us know when it was ready. We did not receive a phone call until around 4:15 that our room was...

I arrived about 2:30 pm to find my room was not ready yet since check-in was at 3. Jessica pre-checked me in and said I would have to wait for a bell man to come back to hold my bag. After about 5 minutes of waiting, a manager came and took my bag. I returned at 4:30 to get my...

We were looking forward to staying in this sumptuous old hotel. It is certainly a beautiful building that is well maintained but our experience was spoiled by the attitude of a couple of members of staff. Customer care should be paramount in such a high level hotel but we felt this was lacking. On a positive note the room we...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
