Beautiful on the outside, beautiful lobby! But the actual rooms are little to be desired. Very small and ours smelled like a wet dog. The staff is very distant and not very welcoming.

Great little hotel. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The room was a bit smaller than we were expecting but it was still very nice. The hotel is a little hard to find. It has a great little bar in the lobby. We will definitely stay here again!!

Great little hotel just outside the Quarter. Rooms weren't extraordinarily special but the bathroom was big. Terrible water pressure in the shower--the hotel's only negative. Loved the bar--mixologists making really nice Sazeracs but also crazy drinks with all kinds of cool syrups and bottles.

We stayed at the International House the last weekend in March for the wedding of a friend. We found the accommodations to be world class, from the attentive and knowledgable staff in the lobby to the double height bedroom complete with spacious and plush king size bed... even the cleaning staff was friendly and courteous. Its conveniently located just below...

We liked the feel of this hotel, it was clean and elegant and will recommend it to family and friends. Some feedback for the hotel check-in staff and bellman: I understand how they are trying to portray a laid-back approach to service with the casual way the staff are dressed and deal with guests. But I think it might need...

Just returned from a fun weekend in New Orleans. Loved the interational house. Great location (near the quarter), great service and the bar served wonderful, innovative drinks many of which are homemade concoctions created by Alan, the lead bar tender and his staff. Definitely worth the stay.

All accommodations were outstanding. Very nice for a business trip. I was welcomed without an overbearing concierge, bellman, or waitstaff. Great feel of an elegant hotel with a wonderful boutique feel. I will definitely be back and look forward to 5 star treatment. Thanks!!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
