We have stayed at almost every 4+ Star rated hotel in the city and we just LOVE The International House. We have a perfect stay there every time. The rooms are incredible with gorgeous crystal chandeliers, luxurious beds and immaculate bathrooms. The hotel has a perfect modern upscale vibe that makes you feel alive just like the city. My girlfriend and I travelled across the USA for 6 weeks, during which time we stayed at the International House in New Orleans. As a young couple, we found our Queen Room more than satisfactory, with ample space, a magnificent shower/bathroom and large flatscreen television. The location of the hotel couldn't have been any better, with it being just outside...

Booked hotel because a friend reccommeded it. So glad we did. Stayed two nights to celebrate our 7th anniversary. Lobby was artsy and smelled so good!! We stayed in an Apple King room. Loved the simple style of the room, high ceilings, and flat screen tv. The bathroom was standard size...but the tub was oversized. :) The location was great...close...

We recently spent three nights at this hotel and enjoyed it very much. It has a great location, close to the French Quarter but not in it. Being in the French Quarter may be a tad bit more convenient but good luck sleeping! The hotel is tastefully appointed with some very nice touches and the room prices were quite reasonable....

This is a good boutique hotel. Staff helpful without being fawning, which can sometimes happen in America. Great location for the French Quarter or anything else you want to do in NOLA. Rooms are funky without being overdone. Bathrooms clean. Rooms are quiet to a point but could benefit from double glazing. A room safe would be good. All in...

As a local and as someone who has stayed at the International House on several occasions. I feel it's one of the best hotels we have in the area. The Lobby and LOA bar are incredible. Rooms are clean, well sized and have a very appealing decor. Beds are huge and comfortable. I recommend it to anyone I know staying...

My wife and I traveled to New Orleans late May 2012. This boutique hotel is perfectly located on the quiet side of Canal street just blocks from everything you want with very little of the noise. The hotel has a modern decor and an unique bar in the lobby where the bartenders pride themselves on mixing any number of drinks...

On a recent trip to New Orleans my husband and I stayed here for one night for our anniversary. The hotel decor is lovely, the lobby and bar being highlights, and all the fresh herbs and fruits on the bar smelt amazing! We were offered an upgrade from a panoramic corner king to a terrace room for an extra $10,...

My husband and I have stayed at the International House at least 8 times, both before and after Katrina. Over the years we have tried the Windsor Court and the Loew's, but have concluded that the International House is the best hotel for us in New Orleans. The location is superb - an easy short walk to the French Quarter,...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
