First trip to new Orleans and location was perfect. Suggestions for dinner were perfect. Excellent staff. Rooms were first class. Would stay again and enjoy the ambience in that area. Two blocks from trolly station. Not far from French quarters , bourbon st and financial district.

I spent one night at International House and its now my go-to in New Orleans. Friendly staff, beautiful decor, and above all, killer location. Great for a romantic getaway, or business trip. Will definitely be back!

First experience with "boutique" concept. Loved it. Smiling, courteous, upbeat staff. Cool music always in lobby. Within walking distance to Quarter, Several options of dining and beverage stations close by also. Due to our king matress; best 5 nights sleep in a row in years. I will be back!

This hotel was probably considered elite in the 90's. Besides very small and feeling a cramped, wall paper was found peeling in two rooms (we traveled with friends). The bar off the lobby was attractive but the house recommended drinks were horrible and over priced. I went off reviews from trip advisor but found this hotel to be far overpriced...

We have great news! We are 15 rooms shy of having all 117 rooms completely done with all wallpaper removed. We have been working on the project for 3 months and will be done at the end of August. We hope that you will stay with us again in our beautifully redone rooms.

We stayed here on Monday night and had a great experience. Everyone was very helpful. I was quite impressed. The hotel was very nice and we were very happy with our king-size bed. The hotel is in a great spot with a lot of fancy restaurants. And as far as drinks go: you need not leave the hotel! Loa bar...

The hotel lobby has a great vibe. The front desk was very fast. One of the hotel staff directed me to an open parking spot which was free. I parked there for three days without a problem. The parking lot around the corner is only $10 a day. The hotel restaurant was closed. But you're in New Orleans so that...

I recently stayed at the International House and it was pleasing. My first night, however was not so great. We arrived late night, around midnight and of course we got stuck with the last room in the hotel, which was a "rockstar" room. The room stunk of mildew and there was a strange opening above the bed, which I'm assuming...

Thank your for your review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed our umbrellas but hopefully it will not rain when you return! We are sorry that you did not enjoy our Rockstar room and are happy that we were able to make accomodations to move you to another room type. We will have a Sazerac mixed for you and look...

This was a nice boutique style hotel. You could always tell when you get in front of the hotel doors from outside by the nice aroma from inside lingering out. What a WELCOMED smell, considering a lot of the french quarter doesn't smell so nice! The staff was completely helpful and friendly, the bed was comfortable (my husband thought it...

My original booking was for The Hotel Modern. This is the third time Ive stayed there, second time since the "remodel". The rooms are small but comfy, the bed is soft. That is where the positive part ends. The location is awful, long walk to anything you would want to do in New Orleans. The only positive about the location...

I stay at The International House frequently for business, but it is also my favorite place to stay when I am visiting NOLA for a fun weekend. The staff is super helpful--and the rooms are cool, clean, and lovely. You can walk to The Aquarium, Bourbon Street, tons of great restaurants and bars--really the perfect location.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
