Pros: The location of this hotel is withing 10 min walk to Bourbon Street. Very large and convenient bathroom and shower. Cons: No coffee/tea in the room. Breakfast (very minimalistic) is nominally provided in the lobby, but they always ran out of coffee. The windows in the room cannot be opened, and the air circulation is bad. There is no...

It was the perfect location - close to the French Quarter, but not in it, and close to the Warehouse District which I loved, the galleries, museums and cafes. I didn't want a huge corporate hotel and so this was the perfect size. The building is lovely, the rooms are fine but a bit small. Front desk people are very...

I was in the city earlier this week for business. The hotel I was booked at had over booked and I arrived late due to airline delays. So at 2:30 AM it is not good to not have a room and find the hotel feels it is your problem not theirs. The city was majorly over booked, On an off...

1. Room type. I reserved via Hotwire, so this aspect is an issue of handoff between the hotel and Hotwire, but I think both can/should improve. I agreed to queen bed room with Hotwire, and I was assigned a "Rockstar windowless room" at the International House Hotel. However, I was never told (not by Hotwire in advance, not by the...

Stylish hotel is just a few blocks from the western edge of the French Quarter. Building and lobby are understated with neoclassic elegance. The single Queen room I stayed in was smallish (no room for a desk and chair) but otherwise comfortable. Bathroom was very nice, almost luxurious.

The hotel itself is lovely, beautiful building, we'll decorated, great bar and absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pros: excellent staff, clean, comfortable, great bar, one of the most comfortable beds ever and perfectly situated. The cons: barely ant hot water. We had almost cold showers. Also, very noisy - Not just car noise which we don't...

International House Boutique is probably one of the best kept secrets in New Orleans. We have stayed at Westins Marriotts Hyatts all over the country and they do not compare to this uniqe hotel experience. The staff, the rooms, the hospitality, the ambiance made our stay in New Orleans a week to remember, we would not consider staying in any...

My husband and I got a windowless room with a king size bed. Noise was never a problem, the room was huge, the bed was comfortable, there was a mini-fridge, and the bathroom had Aveda toiletries and a real door (no stupid sliding door with frosted glass and zero privacy). The room was extremely attractive, and of course the lobby...

You are welcomed by friendly people that will do anything to make your stay a memory you will take home with you. I have stayed here every time I come to New Orleans. I arrived late on my visit on 3/3 and they upgraded my room to the Pen house. What a beautiful room, or to say rooms! I love...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
