Let me start by saying that this was a very good location but there were major flaws. We stayed on the second floor in a double deluxe room. Problems first happened here, when we closed the door to the first room we were staying in, there were huge cracks in the wood and you could see outside perfectly and bugs...

I stayed at this hotel while on a trip to New Orleans for my thirtieth birthday celebration. We booked the room and paid for it in advance over the phone, and the representative was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with booking. We arrived several hours before check-in, and the front desk rep was great with helping us with getting settled. We...

We usually stay at another spot in NO, but decided this location was fine, good enough reviews and we were looking to budget. Hotel is on Rampart which is under heavy construction. The hotel has no stairs so pack light. Clerks accommodating but far from friendly. Terrific and inviting pool area. Small, old room with a clock that did not...

Really enjoyed staying here. Very convenient to Bourbon street craziness and to the river activities. Far enough away to get away from street noise but close enough for a nice walk. The staff was great and the complimentary breakfast was a treat.

My sister and I decided to celebrate her birthday in New Orleans. The charm and comfort of this hotel was exactly what my sister deserved! The location also made going to the French Quarter easy. The city bus routes could be met to get to other areas of New Orleans. We didn't have a car and saw a different part...

The hotel itself is very basic. Basic room, basic bathroom, basic amenities, etc. with that said, I was pleasantly surprise with the staff friendliness. They make a unique breakfast spread with fresh heirloom tomatoes, brie, all kind of cheese, fruits, and some breakfast pastries. Very refreshing! Staff are helpful and accommodating.

The staff here make this hotel even more worth the stay. Derick and Jamal (the night crew) are very accommodating, friendly and have some of the best recommendations. From our first impression we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is literally what you think of when someone says French quarter. Although the rooms look like they are accessible from the outside,...

I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and we were looking for a hotel that wasn't too pricey but still in close proximity to the French quarters. We booked the New Orleans courtyard hotel and it was a great hotel and location. Located on Rampart street which is on the border of the French quarters. Only a ten min...

Me and two friends stay here while traveling America. The front desk staff were nice. The rooms were small and the bathroom. The beds were okay. The bed head wasn't attached to bed, only to the wall so when you turn over in bed it hit against the wall waking everyone up. We stop at the front of the hotel...

We stayed at here for our first visit to New Orleans. We were traveling with our dog so our choice of hotels was somewhat limited. We wanted something that was convenient for tourist activities, but not too hectic or too pricey. When we first arrived we were a little skeptical of the neighborhood, there was construction on the street and...

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
