We were here for as convention and decided to skip the big hotel in favor of a B & B. It was a great decision. It is a beautiful old house on the quiet end of Bourbon Street. It is obvious that the owners pay attention to detail -- whether it be the soft towels or the delicious breakfast. The...

Thanks for your great review! Unfortunately, a death in our family prevented us from spending time with you in New Orleans but we are thrilled that Joi and Thyago stepped on so admirably! I will pass on your great comments to them. Thanks again for staying at La Maison Marigny and next time, please visit Frenchmen Street...you'll score our location...

This is a wonderful B&B right on Bourbon Street but several blocks from the crazy, noisy part. Very clean, quiet, and John makes great breakfasts. John is very helpful and offers great maps and information about the area. Best way to stay in New Orleans. Would definitely go back here!

It is always nice to have folks who live in the Bay Area visit us as it reminds us of our early adult years in San Francisco! We're thrilled you enjoyed the inn and it's great location, and I thank you for the kind words about me as well. Look forward to your return visit!

A combination personal and business first-time trip to New Orleans was comfortable and enjoyable thanks to a great location in relation to the sights and John's friendly hospitality, visitor tips and tasty breakfasts. What a pleasant experience in relation to the typical convention hotels!

We loved reading your great review and thank you! Vancouver is a great town and we enjoyed chatting with you at breakfast about your beautiful home. So glad you enjoyed our home, too, and that we were able to provide a fun, safe and convenient location from which you could easily explore the city. Please come back soon!

Everything about this B&B is perfect. The location is just at the edge of the French Quarter so it is an easy walk to great restaurants, bars, shopping and museums. Yet it is still in a residential area so it is quiet at night for sleeping. John is a wonderful welcoming host and very friendly. He makes wonderful breakfasts and...

You had me at "fabulous." :-) Thanks so much for the glowing review. One of the great things about our inn is the stellar location...close-in but quiet! Guests always comment on that and it's so true. We look forward to your next visit to our fabulous (your word, not ours!) inn!!!

This was our first stay in a B&B, and I have to say that I am totally sold on the idea instead of a hotel. This is a beautiful old home with high ceilings, wood flooring, crown molding, etc. The kitchen is stocked and inviting with it's over-sized granite breakfast bar where John serves his guests with his delightful N'awlins...

I love it when we convert hotel people to B&Bs! I wish there was an incentive prize for doing that as I think we'd have lots of points by now! Thanks again for the kind words and please come back soon.

Our 3-night stay in New Orleans was pretty darn perfect, thanks in large part to this little B&B. Don't worry about the noise from Bourbon street -- that is totally not an issue. And if you want to start the day with a hearty breakfast and friendly, informative chat with the innkeeper while he cooks and serves it up, you...

I had a conference in New Orleans this September, and don't really enjoy staying at convention hotels. Instead, I decided to book a room at La Maison Marigny, on the opposite side of the French Quarter from the convention center. As a tourist, the location was perfect - my husband (who tagged along with me) and I were close to...

Thanks for your nice words about our inn! We appreciate it. We don't really market ourselves to conventioneers as it is a bit of a hike to the convention center. Still, many folks who are in town to attend conferences do stay with us and find that the taxi/streetcar ride isn't so bad after all when compared to the masses...

My husband and I feel very fortunate to have found this gem of a B&B at the intersection of the French Quarter and La Maison Marigny. The B&B was as beautiful inside as out, tastefully furnished with beautiful rich linens, luxurious richly hewed bedspreads and drapes lending the interior a very comfortable yet distinctly New Orleans elegant feel. John was...

So happy we decided to stay at this bed and breakfast. This comfortably restored historic home set the mood for our getaway. What a great review! Thanks for the kind words about me and the B&B!! We're glad you enjoyed Preservation Hall...we knew you would. It's really a one-of-a-kind place. On your next visit to NOLA, we look forward to welcoming you back to the best little inn on Bourbon!

This is a wonderful place to stay for your time in New Orleans. The B&B is clean and well decorated but not too big that you get lost in the house. Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

“We checked out all the rooms and they are all super cute and charming. The one over the back courtyard is probably quieter because it faces away from the street. Same with the room in the middle of the upstairs. But we didn't think it was noisy in the suite and that has a room facing the street.”
