Four of us stayed at this unique hotel this past week and it was a perfect fit for us. We had two large bedrooms, a large living room with balcony access overlooking Canal Street and with two baths. The staff was super friendly and always made sure we had plenty of towels and coffee. Room had refrigerator which was great...

I highly recommend you look elsewhere. We booked this hotel through RCI for a 7-day vacation stay and were immediately disturbed by the filthy, stained, and worn carpeting in the entryway. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath loft appeared to be unkept with visibly dirty bathroom floors and something that appeared to be dirt in the bathtub. The shower head was coated in...

Different but very quaint New Orleans style hotel. It's not a full service hotel. Great location next to Roosevelt Hotel. Only stayed one night. Group of 6 enjoyed our stay. Had everything you need. Close to streetcar & restaurants right by Canal St. We had nice two bedroom two bath suite with upstairs loft. Not sure how smaller single rooms...

We were very surprised at the accommodations. We had a loft suite with bed upstairs and sofa bed downstairs. Kitchenette was great. George was wonderful and super helpful. The bar next door was awesome. Location was convenient to everything

I hesitate to let you know how much I loved this place, because in a way, I want to keep it a secret, but if everyone did that, they'd have to close. So, I will let you know---I LOVED it!!! It's a great location. A short walk to the French Quarter. It's a great price (esp. compared to the high...

This was an exchange vacation through RCI. Upon check in we were able to unload the car in front of the hotel and then go park in the paid garage down the street. We had a one bedroom unit located on the 3rd floor. As soon as we entered the room we noticed a musty smell. The furniture was very...

I recently stayed at the Maison Pierre Lafitte for work for 4 nights. The hotel room reminded me of a loft apartment. There was a secure entry to the building when no one was at the desk. The are plenty of security cameras on every floor. The room had refrigerator, microwave and small range stove complete with silverware and dishes to...

We stayed a week at Maison Pierre Lafitte in New Orleans as an exchange thru RCI. We had a one bedroom plus living room, kitchenette, and bathroom. While the price was right, the hotel is in sad need of major renovation. The unit was spacious with nice hardwood floors. But the furniture was old and very uncomfortable. The front desk...

Positives: Friendly helpful front desk staff. Free Wi-Fi. Updated bathroom. Close to Canal Street car & French Quarter. An all day pass for the street car is only $3. This was a time share exchange through RCI. Ruby Slippers is nearby for a breakfast. The Roosevelt Hotel next door has a taxi stand but after a couple of days we...

What a dump. Cheap, scratched-up Goodwill furniture, dirty hallways, filthy carpets, small dank bathroom, no functioning TV, no parking. And zero services! Check out the "suite" with two pitch dark bedrooms filled with traffic noise (with the windows closed). How does this place stay in business?

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
