We stayed in the green side in 268 and the bed was perfect and the shower was amazingly hot. Ladies down at the Breakfast room were very nice, breakfast was ok nothing fancy, but no eggs or meat. The location is perfect we either took the St. Charles Trolley or the Magazine St. Bus to either downtown, French Quarter or...

Here with friends for Rock N Rock New Orleans marathon. This hotel was easily walkable from the start line (less than a mile). This place is a ideal if you are not interested in being in the midst of the Quarter. We enjoyed waking to several little places near our hotel including the Blind Pelican (lots of fun and great...

We stayed in Prytania Oaks Hotel in New Orleans for 3 nights. The location was just ideal, just a little walk away from the streetcar bringing you all over the town and right down to the French Quarter. A problem was to find the hotel in the first place, as the reception was in a complete different building. But for...

We checked in and got to room to find the keycard only worked on the gate not the room. Staff came with new cards but said they only were programed for one night stay. The next card we got for full stay didnt work. This time staff sent another set of cards that didnt work and they attempted to fix...

I almost hate to review this hotel and let out the Best Kept Secret in New Orleans. Normally I wouldn't think of staying outside the French Quarter but this time we needed to have a car so I was looking for the free parking. This hotel has so much more than free parking! It is a beautifully maintained pre-Civil war...

This hotel is small and quaint and well located for visits into the French quarter and the Garden district. The only downside is that the rooms and beds seem rather small after some of the suites we have stayed in.

This is a great old hotel in a good location with free parking. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It is near the St. Charles streetcar stop. The hotel also offer free breakfast every morning. We will return to this hotel in the future.

Please note: the check in is kitty corner across the street from the hotel! We got a great deal on this hotel through Hotwire, and are really happy by how nice the accommodations turned out to be. The building is a old converted mansion from the 1840s or so (wished they had provided the historic significance of the building along...

Lovely hotel albeit with split location accommodation. Plus points excellent location to town and close to street cars. Negative side is that I have difficulty with stairs and asked for ground (first) floor but was given a second floor room. Also, although breakfast was clearly being served inside a site only feet from our accommodation, we were told at check...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
