The Henry Howard is a beautiful hotel that is well run and exceptionally clean. We loved the architecture, the decor and the location. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in New Orleans.

My husband and I had a great time at the Henry Howard Hotel. It was in a great location - close to restaurants and bars. We were able to walk almost anywhere. The staff was very accommodating. Max in particular was very helpful and friendly. He gave us great ideas on places to check out and he made some killer...

Very nice small hotel in the Garden District, although I would consider it on the fringe of the Garden District. Pleasant staff make for a comfortable stay, but rooms can be a bit noisy depending on where they are located.

This lovingly restored "wedding cake" mansion is a perfect delight! Stay in the peaceful Garden District, one block away from St Charles trolley line that takes you directly into Canal Street. Dreamy!

We found this beautiful old lady in 2016 when it was just opening. Delightful hotel in the Garden District. Inviting front porch to watch the world go by, take time to enjoy an ice tea and a good book. We liked it here so much, we returned a second time. Rooms are decorated to perfection. Only item I would consider...

A fantastic place to stay right in the heart of the Garden District. Great hospitality and close to everything in walkable distance. Very comfortable. Beautiful architecture wherever you look. Take a pedicab to take in the scenery.

Beautiful, historic hotel with redone with perfection. Porch to hang out on and watch the world go by. They should have a continental breakfast, with the coffee in the morning. Relaxed atmosphere. I would go back

Beautifully restored old home turned into a boutique hotel with wonderfully modern rooms. Max, the manager, was extremely helpful however I did have a problem with people partying on the front porch at 2:00 a.m. so don't take a room on the front if you want a peaceful night. Except for that, this is a hotel you would not mind...

We had to make a quick business trip to New Orleans and chose the Henry Howard as we had stayed there for an extended trip last fall and really enjoyed it. Rooms and staff are very nice and location is great for easy walking to Magazine shops and restaurants.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
