My wife,13 y.o. daughter and I travelled to New Orleans in mid-March and we really enjoyed our stay at the B & B. Charlotte & Brian Furness were very helpful and so was their assistant - Angela. It had a nice little courtyard where you can sit and the facilities were "homey". The apartment we were in had a kitchen,...

We stayed at Gentry house in October 2013 for a 4 day trip to New Orleans with cousins. Charlotte and Brian were very helpful every step of the way and were very accommodating as we arrived in 3 different groups. We slept six in the Toulouse suite on the top floor. Definitely the max for the room - 1 queen...

Just got back from staying at the Gentry House for a 7 night stay with 3 friends. Great place, lovely owners and location, location, location. It is not a 5 star but the price is right and it was clean and the breakfast every morning was wonderful. I would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in the French...

This is a B&B on St. Ann street in the French Quarter. I stayed for a week, very chill weather with wind chill, 27 F. It is located a few houses from North Rampart St. opposite Louis Armstrong Park, 4 blocks from Bourbon St. This is a quiet residential street. I stayed in the Dumaine Apt, which opens on the...

The location is great, and the house is very secure. The Saint Ann room is spacious and the croissants in the morning can't be beat! The owners, Brian and Charlotte are very nice and accommodating. We parked our car at the lot on Rampart and Iberville, which is less than 10 minute walk from Gentry House and it was 20.00...

We were greeted by Angel to check us in. She took us to our room which was a one bedroom on the second floor. you have to walk up 2 short flights of stairs to get into the room. The room had a bathroom, full kitchen with dining table, large living room and a good size bedroom. The living room...

Gentry House is in a good location, further from the main hub of the french quarter so it is quiet at night but still walking distance to anywhere in the quarter. Don't be put off by its proximity to some less then safe areas, the main house is locked by a gate on the street so you feel safe at...

Gentry House is only a couple blocks from Bourbon St, and yet the building itself is located quietly on St Ann St. I traveled with two friends for spring break, and so being near Bourbon St and the rest of the French Quarter nightlife was essential. We stayed in the large suite with 2 bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom...

Let me get the bad out of the way first. This place could use some updating badly. The furniture and fixtures are very old. Even the magazines were old. Now to the good. This place is spacious for the price considering we visited during a busy time. My wife and I were very impressed with the amount of space! The...

I just returned from a five-night stay at Gentry House, and the place could not have been more perfect for our group's needs. There were five of us, so we booked the St. Ann Suite, which had three single beds and a queen bed (the queen bed is in its own separate room, while three twin beds were in a...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
